Upgrade ?

I'm new to the forums and have read some stuff on upgrades and was wondering if someone could tell me about what all is offered and for what time of year it is being offered? I would appreciate any info anybody has!

It can be confusing that's for sure! In general, upgrades are by chance and pop up in the computer at check-in. One never knows when or if it might happen. A guest can always request a particular room location, even if it is not what they booked and if available, the resort might possibly be able to honor the request and/or offer it at additional cost.

Recently on the boards there have been some upgrades offered during free dining - seems Disney may have over booked and so to make room they offered some guests other resort options.

Also, AKL has had some construction going on this summer and some AKL guests (not all, seems to depend on the AKL room booked) have been asked to relocate to other resorts. Many guests have been disappointed as they looked forward to their AKL stay, but some have found it an opportunity to stay at a resort where they may not have either wanted to stay or was more than they wanted/could spend.
