Upgrade Win 95????

On the computer my kids use I have Windows 95. I went to buy them a new cd-rom, Finding Nemo, and noticed you need Win 98 or better.

Can I upgrade my old dinosaur??? How can I do for cheap??? We only use that computer for games for my kids. I don't want to put a lot of $$ into it.

Just a little info, and a bump...

Whether or not you'll be able to upgrade depends on your system and how much hard drive space, memory, etc. you have. I don't know specifics, hopefully someone else can handle that.

If your computer has the hardware to handle a Windows upgrade, all you have to do is buy Windows itself. It's expensive but look into whether you can get it free or cheap through your job. I was able to upgrade to Windows ME and then XP for free courtesy of my mom's company letting employees install software on their home computers.

On the other hand, if your computer's hardware is insufficient, you're looking at new components and installation, or a new PC.

I've offered to help with the upgrade. I'm just a bit busy with Yankee Peddler on the weekends. My greater concern is whether or not the old PC will have enough memory to run Win98 and whether or not the processor speed will be fast enough to make the new software playable.

Just how old IS this PC?
