Can you upgrade your ressie after it is paid off?

Im thinking about calling to see if I can get an upgrade before my Xmas trip.

Yes you can, We have done this any times as I can never decide where to stay. You ca always upgrade up to 5 days prior to arrival (flights excluded) and downgrade (never done this!) up to 45 days prior to arrival without penalty. Just as a side note you can even upgrade without spending more money. I was able to upgrade to WL from ASM and add free dining code without spending more money so no refund or extra payment was necessary. Hope this helps have a great trip!

It's easy really just moniter the dis boards and other like sites until you find the correct discount code, (there is almost always one!) In the example I cited for the OP we had a fully paid ressie with dining plan, then about 25 days prior to arrival they offered free dining, so rather than wait for a refund which will take up to 2 credit card billing cycles! we upgraded to a standard room at the WL for no additional cost. And to make it even better we were upgraded at check in to a woods view hope this helps!

I just got upgraded from a moderate to AKL and actually SAVED $60 on an 8 day say!!!!!!

The way I got the free upgrade from a moderate to a deluxe was using the january code ZWA

You are welcome! We have been cross country and back, and all over France and WDW is still my all time favorite place to be. I just don't think it should cost my yearly salary to get there I think in my next life I will either be a Disney travel agent or the guy who stands on main street in MK selling balloons! I did get a good rate for our 12/8-12/16 stay , used CCE, was originally staying at the Caribbean Beach, but wife lost her job so had to downgrade to ASMo , no free dining offered during that time period, room ended up being $71 per night for a preferred, but would have loved to stay at CBR. Maybe next time!
