Upgrade or not ?!?

We are currently booked at AofA LM room, it was going to be me, DH, DD 5 and DS 2 in a room then my mom, dad and aunt on a separate room but since my parents aren't coming anymore we now have my aunt coming by herself. We technically would fit in the same room but I am thinking we would all be happier with more space and privacy and I am considering upgrading to the family suite .This is our 1st family trip and honestly I don't know when we will be back so I want to enjoy this trip. Any input on how to justify the price difference ($715) ... I have tried pricing 2 rooms in other hotels but we end at the same price point plus my DD has her heart set on AofA because of the theme.... Thanks

So we don't normally stay at values so I'm not sure of the room size for the LM room, but here's my theory on it...how frequent are you going to be back at the room? If u plan to spend time at the hotel and in the room for more than just sleeping I would say to upgrade to the family suite. If you are just going to be sleeping in the room then (speaking from my opinion) would deal with the cramped space and use that extra money saved to maybe do some Disney dining or if u are on the dining plan than use that extra money for souvenirs or something. That's what I would do anyways.

Two of us stayed in the LM room and the room is small so I think 5 of you may feel crowded. The LM is also a long walk from the main building, I didn't care for that and I walk 4 miles every day.

I stayed at POP in a room with my mom my DH and two boys 2 and 8 at the time and it was so tight. I also would wonder how close you are with your aunt? My mom I can share a room with and still feel comfortable but I couldn't with my aunt. That's just me! I know some people are closer to their aunt than their mom so I guess each case would be different! AoA is awesome though! Enjoy!

I'd get 2 rooms at AoA. It's prob cheaper then the family suite. You can request connecting rooms, although it's not guaranteed. Call reservations and ask for reservations to be linked as traveling together, and make request for connecting rooms if that's what you'd like.

For us 3 adults in a value room (plus 2 kids) would be tight - pricewise I'd either do the suite or I would probably go with 2 rooms at Pop and then just walk over and look around at AofA so your dd can still see Ariel, etc.

Personally, I would either keep the 2 rooms at Little Mermaid or upgrade to a suite. I would not want 5 people in a LM room, especially with young kids who might need to go to sleep earlier than the adults. Keeping 2 rooms would give both your family and your aunt some privacy and down time at the end of long days in the parks. You could request connecting rooms, though they're not guaranteed. A suite would work as well, though depending on the sleeping arrangements, your aunt would end up sleeping in the same space as the kids (unless you give her the master bedroom and you and DH sleep on either the sofa bed or the table bed -- which are only doubles as compared to the queen-size bed in the master bedroom).

I would get two rooms. It is hard being around a five year old and especially a two year old when you are older and not used to the chaos. I would bet that your aunt would be happier in her own room. She probably would prefer a real bed, too, rather than a sleeper chair in a living room with two children, unless you and DH want the sleeper sofa in the family suite.

In that situation I would do 2 separate LM rooms. Your aunt will thank you!

She probably would prefer a real bed, too, rather than a sleeper chair in a living room with two children, unless you and DH want the sleeper sofa in the family suite.

AoA doesn't have sleeper chairs like ASMu suites. The AoA suites have a pull out couch and a table/murphy bed that are much more comfortable than the ASMu beds. Each of those are double beds. The table bed is just like a regular bed -- the mattress is 8" thick.

There is no way I would cram 3 adults and 2 children into a LM room. The upgrade to the suite is absolutely worth the money. You'll have two full bathrooms, two separate sleeping areas, a kitchenette, and lots of space to spread out. Those LM rooms are tiny with double beds.

Or is just do two LM rooms so your aunt has her own space.

Personally I would upgrade. We spent a week at Poly last year and it was cramped, we're two adults and three kids (age 3, 1, and 1 at the time.) Will you be using a stroller? If you aren't renting in parks then that stroller is going to take up space in your room. Plus if you're using a pack n play for the two year old. We went with GF this year for the slightly bigger room and got umbrella style strollers to take up less room. Plus don't forget suitcases and any purchased items.

Yes, call ASAP. If you wait until you get there, you run the risk of a suite not being available. I would still consider two rooms, though. You will get four double beds and maybe your aunt would like some privacy?

AoA LM is almost always more expensive than All Stars and Pop to the point where a Moderate room is just $20 or so more. They are probably the least value of the values.
