The comp tickets you get from guest relations for issues are nonrefundable and not upgradable. They have 0 dollar value. We got 4 one day tickets to make up for an issue and we quickly discovered since we never go for just 1 or 2 days it was cheaper to give one person all 4 tickets and buy 3 4 days instead of 4 3 days or whatever combo we ended up doing. That's why they give them away because it costs them pennies and you either have to pay for more tickets or buy stuff on your next visit.

Interesting. So that's part of their plan, after you buy the 4 day ticket you need, you aren't saving that much with that one free day ticket.

Can someone walk me through the potential impact on existing FP+ reservations of upgrading PHs to APs? I know there's a right way and wrong way to go about it, and I want to make sure we do it the right way to retain our FP+ ressies. We'll be upgrading 7day PHs.

There's no impact on FP+ reservations when upgrading a MYW ticket to an AP.

Correct. You used to have to use tickets once to be eligible for price bridging. But a CM on this board says that is no longer necessary.

I too am planning to upgrade to an annual pass this December. It would be nice to know where Ravenclawtrekkie will be working that day. Lol

That is why most places will give you credits to their establishment. Another example would be Amazon. 9 times of 10 if you email Amazon about an issue (late delivery, messed up box, cancelled order, etc) they give you a small credit for like $10. They know you aren't likely to use just that $10 because while you are browsing the website you'll find other things you want. Any time you get comped something by any company the real hope is you will use above and beyond the freebie and thus make the company more. The consumer feels like the company cares and their issue was heard and doesn't walk away empty handed but it costs the company very little.

In our case it saved us the cost of 1 4 day ticket which was roughly the value of what they were making us while on anyways and we had a trip planned already so it worked out for us. It doesn't do much for a family who is a once in a life time family though.

Well, then my situation will be ultra complicated. I plan to upgrade Parksaver tickets to a new (not renewal) DVC AP voucher BEFORE my current DVC AP expires. That should be fun.

I don't see that as being a problem.

Go to Guest Relations. I've done it many times.

My upgrade update. Upgraded 2 Parksavers 7 day with 3 free PHs to APs at Epcot main gate guest relations. No problem. Immediately was quoted the ticket bridging price. CM was Cristina from Brazil. Took 5 minutes.

Upgraded my 3+4 days PH to Gold AP at HS without any problem.
