Upgrade availability at Sequoia?

We are going November 23 - 28 and I hear that alot of people have gotten upgraded at checkin from an out lodge building to a Montana building. My question is....IF that does not happen (and I know not to count on it) do you think I can ask to pay the difference and that there will be availability at that time?

i asked this question the other day and if they have the availability then its fine, but you will pay the current rate so it might work out really expensive. I booked on the 40% off deal and was given a price of nearly 200 to upgrade at the current prices!!! def not going to upgrade but may ask for one on check-in, the worst they can say is no

We plan on asking when we check in on November 22nd, or email around a week before we go, as Julie said, the worst they can do is say no!

I have read somewhere though that at quiet times they tend to upgrade you anyway, apparently they like to fill the main building first, not sure if there's any truth in this though
