Upgrade at port with DCL?

Does anyone know where the upgrade desk is at port Everglades?
The upgrade desk is past security in the same area where the waiting area is located. We looked at a possible upgrade on our Magic cruise in early May. They did have rooms available but we decided to stick with the room we had.

We sailed on the Fantasy a few weeks ago. After checking in, we were the first people at the desk for upgrades. We had 2 balcony rooms with 5 adults. We were offered a one bedroom Concierge for all 5 of us together for $7000 more than we already paid. Alternatively, we could have upgraded 2 of us to a regular Concierge for $3000. We passed, as it just was not worth that much extra for us.

Wow, that's a lot of $$$.

Cruising Concierge for only the 2nd time next February on the Dream.

My family cruise Concierge in 2014 at the end of August on the Dream, it was only $2700 for the 4 of us!!! I know its been 10 years, but I am so glad I jumped on that opportunity. We even got a Cabana on that trip.

We just sailed on the Magic. Had booked the smaller interior room ( 2 adults 2 kids) . Upgraded at the port to a white wall veranda accessible room ( what was offered) $500 total.
We took it.. room was in the aft and very LOUD. I would not recommend an aft room.

How was it loud? Like engine noise? People in the hall or in the room next door?

good question. Loud engine noise also so much engine vibration that it rattled the metal ceiling panels. It was worse when docking or when the sea was a little choppy.

Could you help with the whereabouts of ‘the desk’? You check in and go through security before heading up the escalator. Is the desk then to the left in the main lobby? Thanks

We sailed out of Port Everglades. The Desk I went to was past security all the way to the left. There is a long desk of customer service agents and you need to speak to the "supervisor " at the end of that row of desks. There is only one person handling upgrades. We arrived at 1145 and were boarding group 10 if that helps to give a time frame. There were only two possible room upgrades at that time for a party of four.

I’m sailing out of Port Canaveral. That’s why my reply to the prior post but thanks for your input.

Ok - this won’t help with current life. Might make you cry.

2010 Med 11 nts. 2 adults. Paid $2k for 11C GTY. Upgrade at port $2800 to one-bedroom HA suite (humongous). (Price the day before was $15K). What a deal I got. We were B2B - so early dibs (I wasn’t first in line).

A woman came by, beelined to upgrade desk. Apparently planning on getting this cabin. She was so mad, she grabbed the “Upgrade” sign out of its stand, threw it on the floor, and stomped out if there.

My friend upgraded Cat 11 to verandah for ~ $795.
That is magic. This is when it is sooo fun to be a concierge is to give these rooms to guests with a deal. <3 makes my heart sing.

We upgraded on the Wonder in Alaska this week. Two adults. Can't remember our exact category but it was a forward deck 6 regular sized balcony stateroom. Concierge upgrades were 3700 for a family stateroom and 7000 for the one bedroom accessible.

It was our 25th anniversary so we decided to splurge and were lucky enough to get a picture with both Mickey and Minnie in the concierge area on our actual anniversary!

Upgrades are often available. Lots of variables, but I experienced it at Port Everglades where the dreaded “No upgrades available” sign was out and yet when I asked the supervisor directly she advised there were upgrades available and the sign was inadvertently left on display… so never hurts to ask! Last year on the Dream I upgraded from a 1bdrm Concierge to the Walt Disney Suite - about 30% less upgrading at Port vs booking that suite in advance.
