Upgrad to AP?

We have a package booked for August (already paid for). Now we are thinking about getting APs so we will have no choice but to go back within a year So if we get APs will we have to cancel our current ressie and rebook with a room only?

I think you can just call and get it changed to room only...or they can take care of it over the phone

Since you have already paid for your trip in full I'm not sure you can change your ressie since going from a package to a room only would require a refund. You are best to call Disney reservations and ask them. If you have the dining plan you can still keep it with an AP reservation and if you ask they may still have some AP room discounts still available.

However, if you are told you cannot change your ressie with it being paid in full, you can keep your package as is and after you check in head over to guest relations at one of the parks and tell them you want to upgrade your tickets to APs. You will be required to pay the difference in ticket prices and you will be issued your APs.

BTW, we decided on purchasing APs ourselves this year and I was able to change my ressie but I had not paid it in full at the time. As another little bit of info, I was told that AP prices were probably going up soon (before our August trip) so we made the switch and went to our local Disney Store to purchase APs at the current price. They will not be activated until August and will be good for a year from date of activation and we will not have to pay the price difference. Just thought I would pass along the heads up!

The price increase is exactly why we were thinking of getting APs now instead of waiting until we get there. Guess I am off to call the world and see what they have to say.
