(UPDT: 2/21) Losing The Glass Slippers to RUN like a Princess! Serial-PTRer report!

No, that last one wasn't there. :goodvibes Lovely. But that B and W, sighing. It's just like that one of my mom and my nieces that I showed you way back. Just a perfect moment captured. :goodvibes

Rey's skilled. :thumbsup2

Congrats on getting the dessert party. I bet you girls are gonna have a blast!

Love the pics of you, your mom and daughter. So neat!

Yes! I remember that photo! I love when photos just catch THAT moment. :lovestruc

Savannah & I really loved the dessert party last time, it was so nice to sit (and EAT) ;) and relax for Wishes!

123 DAYS! It's been a while since I've updated, not a ton of Disney planning going on, but LOTS of life going on. It's been a crazy week, Savannah turned 13 yesterday...Savannah called it her "Birthday week". Where's MY birthday week, huh? :lmao:

In any case, after my mom came out on Friday, then we had tons of petsitting and wanted to squeeze a photo shoot in for Savannah. We have been doing this for a few years and she really likes doing a shoot each year right around her bday. It was freezing on Saturday, but she was determined. I'm about to overload you with photos, but I cannot just choose one! I loved them all, she was really critical of herself and told me I was bias b/c I'm her mom. *sigh*

Yesterday was her actual birthday, I had to decorate, just like I do on Disney days, naturally. It was all Ed Sheeran themed, complete with a cardboard Ed and a guitar since she wants to learn to play.

Eleanor and I secretly talked and she made these mini-Ed and mini-Savannah figurines for the cake. Hands down, this was Savannah's favorite gift of the day. She LOVED the cake and I was so impressed. I swear, Eleanor is crazytalented!

The party was a lot of fun, she loved all her gifts, but since the PTR is about Eleanor and Savannah, here are a couple shots of her opening her gifts from E. Eleanor wrapped one of the gifts (a Grumpy Cat book) in TONS of wrapping paper and boxes. It took about 10 minutes to open it! LOL

AND, I got a gift too! Eleanor made all three of us (herself included) a Cindy necklace for the trip! Serious talent.

The party was a hit, I think they all had fun. A few more shots...

Training is going well, my long run is up to 6 miles this week and next week I have another 10K I'm doing. Petsitting is really busy, which is great b/c I don't have the trip completely paid off yet. I was really hoping for a FD pin, it would save me a few hundred more off the S/P/D pin I have.

For those of you that have no idea what I'm going on about, Friday my 81 year old mother came out to celebrate Savannah's 13th birthday and we took a few photos. I love them, but the B&W of my mom and I laughing together is going to be one I cherish for my lifetime. I just love it! It makes me want to laugh and cry all at the same time!

I follow your trip reports and your blog. I am a sorta-kinda-runner. Finished my first Half this past March and am "training" for my next one. I LOVE reading about your trips and seeing your beautiful pics!!!
Had to comment on 2 things - on one of your trip reports when you were frustrated and it all broke loose eating and someone didn't like you eating the free 2nd ice cream (or something like that!) and your hubby suggested going outside and you had a little pity-party... (prob got details wrong - it's been a few days since I read that.) But THANK YOU for being so honest in your trip report! We leave in 7 days! for our next trip and I have 2 teen daughters and it's been TOUGH around our house lately. I think I was SUPPOSED to read that report so I will be sure and remain CALM and realize I am NOT responsible for everyone else's good time this trip. And to look for those special moments, like your daughter and her friend frolicking in the fountain. Plus to listen to my DH who is usually the voice of reason at our house!
And second - the pics of you and your DD and your mom are GORGEOUS! My mom is 86 and you have got me wanting to go take some pics with me and my 2 DDs and my mom. Thank you so much for sharing those.

Enough rambling... going back to my lurker mode now. :)

I've said this before, but I will say it again...Savannah is just beautiful. Teenagers are always critical of themselves, but you did an amazing job on your photo shoot with her.

Eleanor DOES have some serious talent. Those figures for the cake and the Cindy necklaces are so adorable. :thumbsup2 The party looks like it was a lot of fun. The pic of all of them on the trampoline reminds me of my teenage years....OH to be young again!

Welcome Lisa! No going back into lurker mode, now I'll bug you forever! ;) So you ARE a runner b/c there's no such thing as a sorta-kinda-runner, I looked it up. :p AND, you have run a half and I haven't, so if I'm a runner, then you MUST be!

I'm so happy you enjoyed the TR's! I go back sometimes and read them and yes, they have to be accurate and meltdowns sometimes happen, even at Disney, so when they do, I put it out there. It helps remind me next time that in the big picture, it's not that big of a deal and I will eventually look back and laugh. :)

Thanks! I'm glad you posted, I have not been keeping up lately with the DIS and missed you started your TR! I know, the shots from the trampoline were kind of a slap in the face...she really IS a teenager now??? When did this happen?!!!

simply love the photos! GORGEOUS!

Thanks Ann! How's your training going?

Yes.

Just gorgeous! :thumbsup2

You know what's funny? I think of you when I shoot now, did you know that? I'll be shooting and I'll think "Lisa would like this perspective" or "How would Lisa see this?" Not kidding, really. :flower3:

Ah-Mah-Zing!!!

Those pictures are just amazing. And beautiful. I can not believe she is only 13. She looks much older. I have a daughter just a year younger and my girl looks like a baby compared to Savannah.

Awewsome pictures.

Her party looks super as well... and yes, Eleanor is crazy talented with those figurines. Super cute!

Everything looks great & good job on getting your mileage up on the running after the injury. I can not believe I am 2 weeks out from the 1/2. I am SO not ready.

You'll be fine, I know it! AND, I bet you have a blast! RunDisney knows how to do a race!

I know, she looks so much older than her age! It's a-scary! I was like that as well, telling people I was in college when I was 14. :rolleyes1

Thanks Ann! How's your training going?

Training is going ok. I think I liked my taper for the ToT a little too much. I am not excited to ramp back up my mileage. I managed a bit over 7 on saturday and 5 today.... but I should be doing 10 on my long runs.... not just 7...

Seriously, grrr... I'm at work and the computer I'm using is not loading your pics... I think I've seen them already but that's not the point! :headache:

And how do you get by with Savannah having a birthday week... Kya insists she has a birthday MONTH and then tries to extend it all the way to Robbie's birthday which is 10 days into the next month. She actually mentioned that Savannah is selling herself short by only taking a week. :rotfl:

And so cool that she wants to learn guitar. I just assumed that was Dallas's and you were using it for decoration. I guess I'm going to have to keep up with you on your PTR since I'm missing out on so much stuff IRL.

Great pictures! I need to do some new ones of my little guy too. And update my PTR. And who knows what else!

Glad training is going well. Need to get back on mine, like Ann I enjoyed the post ToT taper too much. :rotfl:

Karen, have you been able to customize your bands yet or does that come at the 60 day mark, too??? I'm just so nervous I'll miss my window for customizing bands and doing fast pass plus selections. I'm going at one of the busiest times and I want to do my faves!!!!

Nope, can't do either yet, I will start checking around 70 days but think it's going to be 60 or close to it!

That's cute. :lmao:

I have a friend, like you, he is a professional photographer. He actually teaches it at a college now.

I asked him about someone's photo the other day. Probably some raging jealousy about crispness or clarity -because that's all I can talk about with my point and shoot. Endless complaints. So he goes "Lisa, he works it to the max in photo shop, I've looked at the __________ (whatever that's called) and I'd tell you a setting but your eyes would start to get heavy".

And I laughed and laughed.

I won't do photoshop (which my friend ADORES) and every time he tried to teach me anything about f stops and ISO or anything MY EYES WOULD GET HEAVY AND VERY SLEEPY. Instantly. :rotfl2: I would actually go somewhere else in my head as he spoke to me. :rotfl2:

Oh boy, I wish I loved that part more, Karen :goodvibes

Well that was totally off topic. :lmao:

Oooooh stories. :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Wow, I'm terrible at updating this PTR! I guess when it's not NEVERENDING and I actually go on the trips, I don't have as much to ramble on about. :lmao: (that's just a bit of a jab at myself b/c I used to update my neverending PTR all the time, but had to continue postponing trips!)

So, first off, I had to come post about my 10K race today! It's the most Disney related of things I have to share. If you are not a runner or haven't run Disney races, basically you need proof of time to be placed in a corral (sectioned off starting area everyone starts in) that is best suited for you. There are MANY corrals, and even more this upcoming year, b/c there are thousands of people.

Anyway...when I registered, I had a 10K time to submit of 1:08:11. This was decent for me and I was pleased with it, it would get me somewhere in the middle, which I'm fine with b/c I just don't want to be in the last corral with walkers, having to weave around them. Today I ran another 10K and I PRd (Personal Record) my 10K time with 1:04:47!!! Now, these mere 3+ minutes might not seem like a big deal to most, but they are to me. It's a better time than I actually dreamed of and with as many corrals as there are, probably will move me up one! So I have already emailed off my change of time to RunDisney and I'm pretty excited!

I won 2nd place in my age division and they had free beer for everyone after the race, so it was a pretty nice morning! ;) Excuse my disheveled look, I just ran 6.2 miles!

More race news as well a few days ago when they released the Princess Half and Glass Slipper Challenge medals! I'm only doing this Princess in February (you can bet I'll be doing the GSC in 2015) so I'll only get the Princess Half medal, but I LOVE IT! I love the blue, b/c since I chose to dress up as Cinderella, it will match! Yes, I want my medal to match my outfit. :rotfl2:

On the not-so-Disney front, Halloween! I can find a way to relate it b/c Eleanor was involved and that's kind of Disney related, right? ;)

We had a fun night, Savannah went as Grumpy Cat. She trick-or-treated for a bit with her friends and then they went to her BFF's house for a Halloween party/sleepover. I stayed for a while and got a few pics of them shooting off fireworks and releasing some lanterns. They had a blast!
