Looks like starting tonight or tomorrow night the beach will be open from 9:30pm till 10:30 pm for the fireworks and the EWP. If I wasn't so tired I would go down tonight and see for myself.

Well, there go my plans. Almost wondering if it's worth even taking the trip now. I am NOT headed into the park to watch fireworks.

The Fort is ALWAYS worth the trip . . . just ask around.

Agree with Scupper. Not being able to see the fireworks from the beach is by no means a deal breaker. Too, and I mean WAY too many other things to make up for it around the Fort.

Our trips to the fort, now that's not near as many as some of the others but we have only watched the fireworks from the beach once.
ETA: and that was on our last trip!

The fort is great. I completely agree. However, there was a point to this trip and that was one of the highlights. It's not that I *wouldn't* go, but it just puts a damper on the plans. So much so, that the friends that were coming to join us for the BBQ are reconsidering and that makes me sad. HOWEVER, this trip just got cheaper. I don't need to buy as much food.

One hand always washes the other, but I guess because I feel that there has been so much overreaction it grinds my gears a bit.

Well, in this sue-happy world we live in Disney has to protect not just the guests, but their own tails as well.

People are watching them through a magnifying glass right now and so they have no choice. It'll take some time to settle down. I see people posting not just here but on other threads about cancelling or altering their trips because there's a lake, canal, or water fountain near their room and/or site.

I certainly wouldn't miss a good barbeque due to not being able to watch fireworks that are a mile away.

Hoping for an update? The EWP is one important thing for us next trip. If the beaches end up not being available any ideas on an alternative viewing site? We have ADR at Kona and had hoped to walk out after and watch the parade.
