I posted this on CB, but thought good here also..............
A number of updates here.....
Many of us have followed Tiger Fan's (Lisa) battle with breast cancer, the beast, as she refers to it, over the past few years. She has the particularly virulent strain, Inflammatory Breast Cancer, the type that claimed the life of our DIS'er friend Sylvia some three years back. Lisa has had a double mastectomy, the second not that many months ago. She really needs to be on a rather constant stream of chemo, but has had to take a break from it due to sickness and low blood counts that just were are rebounding to where they need to be to receive the chemo treatments, a real Catch 22. Hoping Lisa feels up to it soon and is able to return to the chemo, tough as that is in itself.
Next, Lynn's, Lisa's partner, dad, Ray, was diagnosed just a few weeks ago with non-operable, non-treatable bone marrow cancer and passed away yesterday. He had beaten prostate cancer about 4 years back, now this, and gone.
Condolences to Lynn, Lisa and their families. Here is a link to Mr Fox's obituary, Ray Fox. Making the moment even tougher, Lisa's youngest sister is getting married on Saturday and all are being pulled in many directions right now from both their families.
And, another DIS'er, kmr (Kathi), whose husband, Gerry, was diagnosed with a very deadly form of cancer just less than a year ago a link), passed away Tuesday night.
A young man, no more than about 45, at most. Kathi herself, a breast cancer survivor from a couple years back, link one link two link three link four Prayers and condolences go out to Kathi, her little daughter, Mara, and all their families.
On a brighter note for the moment, Lisa and Lynn's daughter, Emily, well, just easier to quote Lisa.....
I have had the opportunity of meeting all of these folks, Lisa and her family, Kathi and her family, in past years at WDW. The DIS here is truly a family. We can laugh together, argue now and then, and in times like this, cry a bit, pray a bit, console a bit.
Lisa, Lynn, Kathi, my best, good wishes, my prayers are with you all.

...I can think of good news. My sweet Emily. She's so wonderful and healthy and bright. We met with her teacher just yesterday and she was bragging on her in every way. She's my inspiration to keep going and fight this battle that I face every day....
