What is up with that? I called at 9:05 this morning, exactly 7 months out, and I'm on the wait list for 2 of my 9 nights. Of course the 2 wait list nights are smack dab in the middle of my stay or I would have taken another resort for part of the time. I really did not want to move during this stay since there are 8 of us. What a pain.

So, if you are in a standard view, BWV 2 bedroom on May 2 and 3 and are considering cancelling - PLEASE DO! :p

Now I have to obsess over the wait list ...

it's the standard view the problem - right - you could get the preferred view for your stay?

I wouldnt fret... 7 months out is a loooong time. It will come thru.

There aren't that many BWV standard view rooms, especially 2 bedrooms. You were lucky to get 7 of 9 nights at 7 months. It's a slow time of year, the waitlist will probably come through. Good Luck!

Did you make a backup reservation at another resort? If not, you should call soon and do so. Just to make sure you not a "street person" for 2 nights.:wave2:

And I agree, you will have an excellent shot at getting the wait list to come though, someone always cancels, and it sounds like you should be on the top of the list.

Hi,

Sending pixie dust for your waitlist to come through!!

Yup, I understand your frustration. I had to take the waitlist for a standard 2BR at BWV, and I called at 9 AM on the 11 month window day!!

Of course, my situation is complicated by the fact that it is for NYE. :p I'm still hopeful. I've got a preferred room as a backup.

Good luck! I have a feeling that your waitlist will come through. Keep us posted. :D

Hopefully, your waitlist will come thru soon, and here's my theory of why: for example, our home is VWL, but last summer we wanted to stay at OKW. So at 11 months out, we made VWL ressies. Then about 7 months out, we switched to OKW, thus freeing up a VWL 2 BR for someone else who was on the waitlist there. That type of thing is probably what happened this year when at 11 months out, I reserved at BCV, our other home, but the CM was nice enough to check BWV, where I was going to switch to at 7 months. Unfortunately, it was already full (those desired standard views). Yet, when I did call at 7 months to try to switch, a standard view at BWV had just opened for me! So I predict that at 7 months there's a flurry of activity/changes and your waitlist comes thru soon.

Last year we had reservations at OKW at the 11-month window for a 2-BR in November. I called at the first possible date of the 7-month window for a standard view at BWV and was waitlisted, but it never came through. This year we did the same thing, but when the standard view wasn't available I took a preferred view at BWV and waitlisted for standard. Our trip is in two weeks and it still hasn't come through. Standard views are just tough to get -- I would definitely take the above advice and book somewhere else just in case you don't get the other two nights. Good luck and I hope it comes through for you! ::yes::

I think I might book a cash ressie for 2 rooms at a moderate so I can cancel quickly if the wait list comes through. Jeez I hate the thought of moving midway thru. Or I may just call and switch to another resort completely for the final 5 days. I'm still thinking about what to do.

I am soooo obsessive there was no way I could survive mentally on the wait-list.

So I called today and switched my ressie. We are now at BWV April 28-May 1 then we move to VWL from May 2-May 7. I guess one move will not be THAT bad....

Yippee! Now I can relax.

I think that sounds like a great trip division. They are both awesome resorts in fantastic locations. I move around WDW resorts all the time and it really is very painless and a lot of fun to experience different resorts. You can also still stay on the waitlist for all the nights at one resort and switch if it comes through.
Have a great trip!!!

You might still wait list for the entire thing and change back if it becomes available. Though it's unlikely to become available, it will not hurt you to do this. Next time call day by day, you may have gotten what you wanted had you done so.

Dean, good point on the day by day and sound advice

Switch from BWV to VWL that is a fabulous combination holiday - enjoy

I talked to the family about my decision (after the fact) and they are all excited to stay at the Lodge. I had wanted to keep them on the Boardwalk because I figured they would have more to do, but they seem more excited to be at the Lodge! I talked up the bike/boat rentals and the proximity to MK and the EWP, etc.

We stayed at VWL in May and adored it. DH is really pleased to go back. So I guess this turned out well.

Thanks everyone for holding my hand thru this.

Sounds like you made a great decision, congratulations. I know you're going to have a wonderful time!
