OK, anyone that knows me from the Disney Rumors and News board knows that (1) I try to be optimistic about the Parks and anything new and (2) I HATED the UNM version of the Tiki Room...which I would spout off to anyone that asked (or even didn't).

But, I've always said I didn't solely object to them changing the Enchanted Tiki Room, it's just what they put in was so *insulting* to the original.

It now looks like they are returning the Tiki Room to something like the original form (YAY!) Reminiscent is the word being used. A thought occurred to me on one possible change: Wouldn't this be nearly the PERFECT place to install Interactive Audio Animatronics? To re-instate most of the original show, but have a portion of the show devoted to one or two of the AAs actually talking to and joking with the audience. (Not unlike Turtle Talk or the Laugh Floor.) I think this would have been a great way to go with this attraction, moderizing it a bit for today's audience, while still keeping much of the original spirit of the show.

Anyways, I am looking forward to seeing what they do here - even if the *just* return the original, I consider it a major WIN.

I like the idea. I'm generally in favor of anything that makes attractions more "variable" -- to make visiting it over and over again worthwhile. ToT has different drop sequences; ST2 will have multiple ride permutations; Turtle Talk and Laugh Floor are different every time.

More like that would be great. (I've also suggested a ST2-like upgrade to Soarin')

ANy idea about the re-opening date or when "soft" openings might start (if they do them)
