We've had a holiday booked up sisnce April this year at Pop Century with basic DDP. We have been considering our budget for the last few weeks and tried to see if we could shuffle our figures better.
This past Tuesday we noticed on the WDW Travel Co. website they were offering the free QS plan to guests staying onsite for the time we would be there. We decided to compare prices, it worked out we could get a moderate hotel plus free QS DDP for less than we had been quoted for the holiday at Pop. How strange was that.
We rang them up to be told we couldn't change we'd have to cancel and rebook the whole thing. So we attempted to do it online but something went wrong they had a problem with their system.
I rang them up and explained the issue and they said they would contact us. At first we thought it had us down as staying an extra day but no that was not the issue. We were told they close at 8pm so they would contact us te following day, we decided to take another look at the email we had received from them and it had 2 adults and a child down as 3 adults as it had my birth year down as the year of birth for our son. He's 8 not 39 :scared1: so we went to bed knowing where the error was and why the price difference was so much more.
Next day I rang before we went out for the day(Leeds Royal Armouries great day out) and explained the issue a lovely lady said no problem she would cancel the ressie we made online and sort it out and rebook it or everyone would be confused with a 9 year old being down as a grown man:rotfl2:
To her credit she did just that I was so pleased I could  her, she said both deposits totalling £720 were to be transferred to our new booking and we should give it a couple of days to show on our booking. I rang back yesterday to say thanks to her and all of the lovely ladies in their office.
It's all been sorted out now and we have a new booking at Port Orleans French Quarter with the QS DDP for our anniversary trip. We can now make some plans and read more TR and dining reviews.

:cloud9: So now we are so happy with our choice of hotel and we don't mind paying OOP for 4 or 5 TS meals. Our Ds will still have plenty of decent meal choices. It will still give us plenty of options for meals and we'll not need a military plan of what parks to do on which days. Plus we've saved £470!!
So come on all you girls and guys tell us about you stay at Port Orleans French Quarter:cloud9:

We got back on Wednesday after a 3 week holiday 1 week spent at the French Quarter.
We loved the hotel, it's a nice compact resort that's really pretty and the boat trip to Downtown Disney is good. The pool area is good with plenty of sun loungers and it never felt too busy. The food court is nice with a good choice of food. We had the free dining plan and I must admit I wouldn't pay for it. The restaurants we chose we really enjoyed but being tied to dining reservations that you have to make months in advance got to be a real pain. So your choice of the QS plan sounds great and much more flexible. I can recommend Wolfgang Puck at Downtown Disney for QS after you've taken the boat ride down there.
You'll have a great time :yay:

That is great news, POFQ looks lovely, we stayed at POR last year and would like to try POFQ in the future.

Disney cancelled and re booked for me so we could add free DDP and transferred over my deposit, my booking even came to less as the gave me the 14 day ticket for the price of 7 deal they are doing at the moment.

We stayed at POFQ for 2 weeks in May. Absolutely loves it! Really peaceful and a great central location for all the parks! I'm so jealous!

We just had to say we loved your Trip Report and all the wonderful photos you posted. You made us laugh and we always appreciate that in a review.
Glad you liked the resort, we honestly cannot wait to get there for our 16th wedding anniversary next year.

The girls there are great and really know their stuff:thumbsup2 They worked out a really good deal for us too. We have also got the 14 day ultimate tickets for the price of 7 days. With the marginal difference in the price between the two resorts we said what the heck we can get a 314 sq ft room in POFQ in stead of the 260 sq ft room at PC we'll happily stay there. The resort looks beautiful on Google Earth and there's a great site about the resort we found http://www.portorleans.org which had most of the info anyone could want about the hotel. The live webcam is fantastic you can sometimes see people playing in the background while others walk or drive past the camera.

I'll be sitting down this weekend to make preliminary plans for while we will be there. Our possible TS (OOP) will be Yak & Yeti in AK, Liberty Tree in MK,
50's Prime Time in DHS and Le Cellier in Epcot. We've been looking at reviews and these seem pretty consistent with food quality and great service. We've also got WCC or Chef Mickey's to consider but not on the same day.
