Lisa,

This is AMAZING! I can only dream of the amount of time you put into this!

I thought of a few things that I didn't see listed. If they are, please forgive me for the oversight.

1. The Vista Spa offers length of cruise passes for the Rainforest. In my oppinion they are really cheap too! I want to say somewhere between $50 - 70 depending on length of cruise. I often go there after walking around the ports of call while my family either takes a nap of goes to the pool. The heated lounge chairs are the perfect place to relax and read my book. Plus, you get full use of the steam rooms & showers.

2. Ladies, bring a light sweater or jacket for the evenings (or shawl for formal night). The deck gets a little windy/chilly at night, but it's a great place to go to enjoy an after dinner drink or just gaze at the ocean and stars.

3. I know you mentioned to pack beer & wine in your carry-on but you can pack liquer too! Mixed drinks are expensive so fill your mug/cup with your desired amount of alcohol in your stateroom then go up to the deck 9 beverage station and viola!

I just got off the Magic and had read on one of the tip threads that Room Service would bring you a hot breakfast if you wrote that on the tag. No more. Our fruit and bagels arrived, but we were told we couldn't order the eggs and sausage - only continental foods. :sad1: Ah, well. I thought people might want to know. . .

I haven't heard that one before. Only the suites are able to order hot breakfast. Sorry you read otherwise.

I have linked the Packing list that has more information under Luggage/Packing on this thread. Next cruise you need to pack a cordless blender. ;)

You can laugh - I heard that someone on the "nanaheads" cruise DID pack a blender!

LOL! I think there were two blenders in our little group on the EB PC Repo. :woohoo: You may have seen them up at the adult pool a couple evenings.

Thank you for making the list so efficient! I spent 2 days last week reading the tips last week. No it is printable and everything!!

Awesome job!

Thank you so much - so useful! I emailed the link to my mom and partner so I don't have to remember everything!

WOW - Lisa, thanks so much for taking the time to do this! I had bookmarked the other thread and saw that it was recently closed due to some very outdated info.

You are a so good to us here on this board - THANK YOU!!!

Thank you so much for all the hard work that must have been. Great list and tips! :woohoo:

You put socks/undies in one Ziploc bag, t-shirts in another and then roll it to get the air out or compress it somehow. That seems so much more sanitary if your luggage has to be searched too. Somehow the thought of and airline employee pawing through my undies is not too appealing. (Yes I do understand that searching baggage is very important and have not issues with them searching mine - just wondering where his/her hands have been.) That's what we did on our cruise in August, my DW is glad she did this as well b/c our suitcases were opened and searched at the airports. All our undies were in plastic bags, as were our socks. I think my DW use the large zip lock bags as well. They also came in handy for wet clothes on our trip home.

Just to say this tip actually may not be correct. Legally if you case is searched by hand they have to open the Ziploc bags and go through them anyway to make sure that nothing is hidden between the clothes. We did this on our last holiday on the way back and when we got home there was a note from US security saying they had searched the bag and all the Ziplocs were open and messy inside. Although a great tip this may not actually save on the officers hands. Oh and security are meant to wear gloves so should be clean.

Lisa what an awesome thread - I really wish someone could post this as a bulletin board folks really need help especially if they have young kids who are overexcited, tired and its finds mom and pop kinda finding themselves that the brain cells have quit holding hands for the moment - I still remember when my kids were small, didn't have cell phones, computer games etc and I drove off after filling the car up with gas leaving my 6 year old daughter at the gas station - started counting heads and realized I lost my girl - this was about 2 miles down caue I was too busy threathing to choke them if they didn't quit fighting over who was going to sit where, who was touching who - you are a parent, you know how that goes - thanks goodness my girl knew what to do, sit there and don't move - now that would be dangerous to leave a child behind with all the jerks out there - we had them also, but it seems like they are more eerier than ever.

Something else I do not understand and don't noone yell at me - why are babies taken on cruises - seems like it would be a good time for mom and dad to enjoy the older kids and still have time to enjoy and relax themselves - why do you take babies that would be better off at home? They are too young to enjoy themselves etc?
Again do NOT get upset with me cause remember I have been a mom for 56 years. I see mom and dads so fusterated and just plain tired. Now I understand if there is noone to watch them or if you have the monies to have a nanny go with you - just curious

Anyhow thanks Lisa - I am going to add this to my column of helpful information.
Hugsssssssss
Shirley

Although I can't speak for everyone, I think a good reason why people would not leave babies home is because More mothers are nursing their babies now than 56 years ago. If you are their main source of food, there is definatley no leaving them behind. But then there is also the "it's your baby" fact, I personally don't think I could emotionally leave my baby behind for a cruise,(although I can definately picture leaving one of my older ones behind, LOL)

Oh and I laughed (the btdt kind of laugh) when reading about you accidentally leaving your daughter at the gas station!! When our 3rd came along, the older two were 4 1/2 and 6 years old, so old enough to do up their own seat belts in their booster seats in the car, no longer in diapers ect... So I was worried that I was SO out of the baby routine I Worried that I would really do something wrong (like forget about him). But then he was born, and I thought, "no way, I'll never forget about him!" A month later I went to the grocery store with all three children. We got out, and were walking the door of the store when I had this STRONG feeling that I was forgetting something. My hands instantly went to my pocket, as the next thought was "I've locked the Keys in the car!", As I turned around to look at the car, I felt the keys in my pocket. At the same time I realized it wasn't the keys, I saw the carry handle of the carseat with my newborn in it!!!!! "OH MY GOSH! I FORGOT THE BABY!" I felt HORRIBLE! It wasn't funny at the time, but I can certainly laugh about it now!

2 questions....
What kinds of juice are available on deck 9?
and, do I need to print out all the papers for the cruise contract that I filled out online, or just the last page with the signatures, thanks.

First I do not remember any Juices available on Deck 9. There is Milk however as well as tea (cold & Hot, and soda.

For your second question you only need to print out the signature page of the contact. By signing this page it states that you have read, understand and agree to the contact. So you only need that last page. You will also need the payment authorization sheet as well.
