I sure hope they run this promotion in the second half of the year too. Would love to take my grandson back and do some Christmas shopping

Quick question. If I book a 7 day at mod or delux with base tickets, can I use the gift cards to upgrade to hopper w/water parks and more when I arrive to save about $400?
I'd like to know the answer to this too!
After crunching numbers all week, I finally called and changed our package to a split stay this morning. This is how it worked out for us, in case anyone else wants to try for a better deal. For my family, with the 30% off pincode, we were paying $3057 for 7 nights at POR, with 7 days base tickets and QSDP. And I was paying for TRex and a Chef Mickey's breakfast oop. I changed it to:
5 nights at POR with the new gift card offer and the regular dining plan and 5 day base tickets: $2957
2 nights at POR with my 30%: $303.19, with $175 paid as the deposit (shouldn't have been quite that much, but the cm messed up at 1st and we just left that amt).
So my total for the 7 nights is 3132 (just counting my deposit on the room only portion).....
So I paid $75 more for the new deal, but I get a $500 gift card! When I check in and get the card, I'll upgrade the tickets to 7 days, pay off the room only portion of my stay, and pay tips to all the full service restaurants with the card! I should still have enough money on the gift card, and my Disney rewards card to pay for TRex, and CS meals for the last couple of days without the dining plan. Since I was paying for a character meal oop in the original plan, I'll actually be about $50 better off this way, and we'll get to eat at our favorite places!
This is what we are doing too. It will require a split stay, but will save us $300-$500 depending on where we stay. We would save the most at a mod like POR, but only $245 per room over the 30% deal (we are getting two rooms.) It looks like you are saving $425 over the 30% deal. Is that just on one room? We will be going the same amount of days and I would love to save $425 per room over the 30% deal. I wonder if I am doing something wrong?
I dropped from 7 day tickets to 5 day (will add 2 days with the gc when we get there). I also dropped from 7 days on QSDP to 5 days on DDP. I will pay for the extra meals with the gc. And that amount is only counting the deposit for the room only portion-I will pay off that ressie with the gc as well. That will leave me about $150 on the card to pay tips, etc. So I probably won't *save* much , but I upgraded to the regular dining plan, and won't have to pay any dining tips oop!
1 room with 5 paying guests (plus a baby). But you have to remember I *worked* the math!I dropped from 7 day tickets to 5 day (will add 2 days with the gc when we get there). Between the gift card and my Disney Visa Rewards Card, I don't expect to spend a dime after my package is paid off!!!!!

I have been worrying about this all day! I got a new confirmation, but there is nothing to click on, and no mention of the gift card! I was planning to call tomorrow morning and double check, and now I definitely will! I would feel like a complete idiot if I gave up my 30% off pin for the gift card, and then no gift card was waiting for me at check in!!!!!
It's interesting how different CMs give different answers. I was stressing over this too, so I called today. He told me the gift card is indeed attached to my reservation, but that I wouldn't receive a special email or link to be able to see it listed in my reservation. When we arrive, we will receive the gift card at check-in. The only way you would be able to see that there is a giftcard on the reservation is in the coding, and he said that code is OVQ (which I don't now if that is my personal one or the generic one). So...I guess I'm covered...

Okay, my TA was able to get me the $300 gc, we arrive on 3/26 and depart on 4/5. So even though our dates fell in the blackout period, our arrival date was before that and they gave it to us. I have confirmation with it all spelled out from Disney so apparently if your arrival falls within the dates, you are set! I am so happy, $300 is something and will be very helpful. This also seals the deal we will not do the QSDP, it was not going to save us much anyway and we probably would have been eating more than we wanted anyway. Now we can just use the gc towards meals.

Can you upgrade to a better view at check-in? If so, could that be paid for with the gift card?
I'm wondering if we can book the standard view at AKL and then upgrade to the savannah view upon check-in, then pay the bill with our gift card.
Not sure how that works, any thoughts?
Any thoughts?
