UPDATED: New Discount Being Released 12-21

Okay, if this rumor is true, and boy I hope it is, then I may have to take advantage of it. The one concern/question I have about the whole rebooking with better deals thing is what happens to existing ADRs that may be associated to the original reservation? Do they transfer to the new reservation without a problem or will there be a chance of lost ADRs? We are currently boooked through AAA for 6n/7d in May and are taking some friends with us for their first trip. This is our second. I would hate to lose dining reservations just to get a gift card.

TIA

should i take this to mean that they are still having poor attendance in January because there is also the pin going around giving a free upgrade from values to deluxe i hope that bodes well for me for 12/31-1/9 woohoo

We received this PIN last year and did use it. The dates were similar. The offer was like this:

Book any room (at rack rate) receive a $500 giftcard for a 5 day stay. This giftcard was for anything Disney, just like a regular giftcard you can buy at full. IT WAS NOT LIKE THAT $395/$500 card that they sell.

We were able to book up to 3 rooms with the PIN as long as travelling together. A one day pass, minimum was also a requirement of the PIN. We each got a one day pass, my husband and I had AP, my son in the other room was going to upgrade his to an AP!! We booked 2 rooms at ASMu, We received 2 $500 gifcards on checkin. YOu had to sign for receiving it. We used the cards as follows: One was used toward the upgrade of the 1 day pass to an AP (also got the 10% off passalong discount!) The other was used mostly for food. Each 6 night stay(we just booked 6 nights, didn't have to) with one day passes was under $900 per room! Thought this actually beat out Free Dining! (got to buy exactly the meals we wanted this way really no desserts) We also had TinW card, so we got 20% off and used WDW giftcard to pay!!

It was as follows: $500/5nights, $400/4 nights, $300/3 nights.

We are actually going to use some of the left over 1 day passes to go in Feb with the 40% off. Hoping to be able to use the AP code (our room at WL not available) HOpe this helps. I know it's last years offer but that's how it was.

any word on whether ticket purchase would be required?

I would bet that you have to get tickets. These offers are usually packages and packages require tickets.

Last time they offered the gift cards (non PIN) they did not let you use them for food.

I wonder if you were to phone Disney now if they would tell us now what the offer is all about????

:)

I JUST CALLED!!! the person I spoke with said the offer is still confidential but will be released on 12/21 and does involve a gift card! I used my sweet talking to pry it out of him. He told me he gave me too much info as is!:cool1:

With the PIN last year for the Free card, you could use it for anything-food, tickets etc. We had 2 (2 rooms) and used one basically for food purchases (along with TinW card) and the other to upgrade a 1 day pass to an AP (with 10%off passalong card) There Were NO restrictions on this card. I don't know if this year is different but we did do this last year.

this sounds like the BEST deal I have ever heard of from WDW.
I hope they have something like this for the last half of the year, too.

And Easter Week is blacked out. I am telling you, I so regret going to WDW this Easter. No deals, holiday pricing at meals and for the DDP and no deal as of yet. We can only go during peak times now and if this is how it is, well maybe our Disney Days are winding down.

And please don't anybody give the supply and demand thing. I know that, I am just bummed that deal after deal comes out and nothing for our dates. We literally are on the brink of being able to afford this trip and I have already bought airfare. I have downgraded to a value and even that may just not work out due to a dh's job woes.

I am just so bummed.

Great news for everybody else though.

My soon to be DH and I are going for our Honeymoon Jan. 17th-25th and staying at the CR. We booked it with no discounts, if they release this offer on the 21st would we be able to call and get the giftcard? It would be SO wonderful to not have to worry about spending money for our trip.

:dance3:

There are room only General PUblic discounts now. Why not check to see if your dates are available. You can click through the link on WDW site or call with the code and see if can be applied

We went the first week in february 2009 under Buy 4 get 3 and you got the $200 gift card. We used the gift card for everything - room internet charges, food, dining plan tips, souvenirs, ticket upgrade for little guy, etc.

If it is a stand alone $300 gc for value resorts, but you have to pay rack rate for the room, then I'll probably keep what I have as I have already paid (45 days was up 2 days ago). We are doing 30% off room, added the dining plan and 1 day passes for each of us. By the time we paid the change fee, paid more for dining out of pocket instead of using the dining plan (as we would drop dining plan and use the card for food), I think it would be a wash for us.

Fingers crossed its a room deal + $300....like earlier this year!!!!!A girl can dream! LOL!

WE had the free gift cards PIN last year and took advantage of it. The 4/7 offer with the FREE $200 gift card was right up there for the beginning of this year. (we could go then)

Oh Brother. I have already booked the GF for 10 days with the 40% off pin code. Now the number crunching will have to start to see what is the better deal.

I would think off hand that the 40% off is a way better deal. The absolute cheapest rack rate at GF is 410.00 (value season, garden view). 40% of that is $164, times 9 nights is $1,476, which is almost double the amount of the gift card.

All you do is update your ressie to reflect the code. You keep your same ressie #, so your ADR's will be fine.

Will this be like a regular gift card (good on dining or anything Disney) or like a merchandise card (not good for food)????:confused3

The buy 4 get 3 free should also be available for them. they might want to check the room only discount & see if it is a better deal though, since they are set to be there more than 7 nights.
