Updated list of Refurbs for 2014

Yes, but I believe the Rocket Rods shut down primarily due to the fact that a fast ride is not supposed to be built on a slow-moving ride's track supports... and it kept breaking down so they just scrapped that junker entirely. The subs rarely go 101 and Finding Nemo is still a popular franchise. Plus the ride is a renewal of a Disneyland classic. Could they close it down? Sure. After all the hype, I doubt it. Not right now.

Star Wars is a popular franchise too. Just sayin'... :goodvibes

I cannot imagine them closing a fairly recently opened ride that still draws in big crowds. They just spent all that money bringing the subs back to Disneyland. I doubt they are thinking about closing it down.

The rumors all relate to a new Star Wars themed area that would go in over in there/rest of TL. It would also take out Autopia. I have no idea on time frame or validity of these rumors, but they have been circulating for some time. The thinking of the long Nemo closure would be they would just announce at a later date they weren't reopening. The refurb is said to just be new paint, etc which wouldn't take 9 months to do. I wouldn't be sad to see them go. Loved the original, not a fan of this one.

ETA: Star Wars would draw in much larger numbers.

Well, that would sure be a lot of work if they did decide to go that route.

In both Rocket Rods and Nemo Subs case they are both high maintenance rides.

Weird it's not on the Disneyland website?

Where are you looking?

It was on the Disneyland website when I posted that.

Go to "attractions" under Things to Do, put the date in on the right side and it will load the refurbs for that day.

So is it confirmed Alice in Wonderland and POTC will not be refurbed in the coming months?

Alice starts refurb in early March and Pirates rumored late April

When you click on the map (there is a link at the beginning of this thread) you click on the star and it tells you when the refurbs are it doesn't say anything for Alice or pirates.

Yes I'm aware of that method as well. We are both looking at the Disneyland website however it sounds like the map isn't updated as quickly as the attractions section since it's showing the updated info.

But so knows how many times it will still change hahaha

The interactive map does show the Alice refurb. Let me see if I can screenshot it.

It depends on how you access the map as well. If you select attractions and then look at the map and click the attraction, no refurb info. is shown. But if you access the map with ALL ACTIVITIES selected, then the info. shows when you click on an attraction. Awesome website... :rolleyes2

No one answered my question about Magic Morning. If Alice and Nemo are down, do they open up another attraction (like IASW, Autopia, Storybookland) to make up the difference?

I have never seen that happen so will say do not expect that to happen.

Planning on taking my son (just he and I) for his 6th birthday on May 8-9th. The Nemo submarines are one of his favorites (although I loathe it), so I am "secretly" happy about it being closed while we'll be there, but I know he won't be happy, but a 6 year old at Disneyland for his birthday, I'm sure he'll find other things to make up for it. I am bummed about Space Mountain being closed, but as long as Pirates, Toy Story, and Radiator Springs Racers are good to go, we'll be just fine. This will be our first time back in almost 2 years, so my son will be tall enough to do everything but Indiana Jones and California Screaming, which I'm sure he would be too scared to do even if he was tall enough.
I am really looking forward to this special Mom and son trip. We live in Texas, so Disney is not an every year type of thing.

There is a chance that Pirates could be closed.

Time to throw Big Thunder Mountain Railroad back on the refurbishment list... well past the whole month of February and entering March. No information on WHEN in March they plan to re-open... if at all.
