I was thinking and hoping that was the ride. I hope the CM is right! POTC was closed on our last trip, which we knew in advance, so we planned our trip at this time as it wasn't schedule to be closed. So, we were quite disappointed when it popped up on the refurb list 5 weeks before we are leaving. I know we can't plan on anything being open when we go, but we really really want to ride Pirates!

Ugh!! We arrive on this Saturday. We are supposed to drive to San Diego for the weekend but when we heard about the Pirates rehab, we decided to head straight to DL from LAX after a 6 hour flight to have dinner at Blue Bayou and to ride POTC then that evening drive to San Diego. Our official DL vacation doesn't start until the 27th (supposed POTC closure day). This is our first DL trip.

Now I don't know what to do! I'd much prefer our original plan of driving to San Diego in the daylight, but I'm afraid to go back to the original plan without official word from DL. Plus, I don't want to waste a ticket day for a busy Saturday, jet-lagged adventure only to find out we could have rode it on Monday when we arrive to DL.

Any hope DL will officially cancel the rehab before the 27th?

(*just saw the DL site doesn't have the rehab on the calendar, but the attraction page doesn't have times for it starting on the 27th)

I'm thinking they better offer some sweet deal on tickets if Pirates, Soarin, Space Mountain, Alice & Little Mermaid are all going to be down at the same time!!!

Well.... it could very well be open by then if the end of April start dates are correct. Hopefully we see some dates posted by Disney in the near future.

So from my understanding the following rides will be closed for my trip 4th - 21st May.

Alice in Wonderland
Finding Nemo Submarines
Space Mountain
Soarin' over California
Pirates of the Caribbean
The Little Mermaid (until 9th May)

I know that there are "a lot of other things to see and do at Disneyland" but this is getting ridiculous. Going at the time of year that we are I was expecting/prepared for maybe 1 or 2 refurbs, but 3 big rides all down at the same time? Hopefully this doesn't affect the crowds that we were trying to avoid in the first place.

With as much movement as we've seen in the refurb schedule recently, I wouldn't be surprised if we continue to see things shift around. I think it's like a chain reaction--one thing changes one refurb, and that changes another, and so on.

I just got back from trip one today, and trip two is in nine days. We only just got confirmation that POTC has been changed yesterday/today. So, things definitely do change, and sometimes with not a lot of notice.

Do they add attractions to Magic Morning if rides are down? Like if Alice in Wonderland & Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage are closed, then do they add the Storybookland Cruise, Autopia, or It's a Small World?

If you go back a page & read NiceOneSimba's post about a conversation he had with a CM, he was told April 22. I then wanted a confirmed answer (I feared it was like a WDW bus driver "tip") so I emailed & got "late spring" in return. So I would assume tentatively April 22, but maybe they're still not quite sure.

Don't 100% count on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad returning for February 1st. From what I'm hearing, it MIGHT be pushed back... AGAIN... until "Spring 2014".
