Jesus did NOT tell you to get on, so don't ask Him to help you now-and this could be fun, you've always wanted to see what this ride is like-you should try things while you're still a bit young, besides, thi- GREEEEEEEEN:lmao: :rotfl2: :happytv: :rotfl2: Too funny LOL

A NEW FAN REPORTING IN!!!

Wanted to get in early so I don't have to get a headache playing catch-up. Love your report(s)...sorry about the very uncool BF messing with you before your big trip...hope things work out for you.

I also have to say: CONGRATS ON ToT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You did it, you really did it...By Yourself!! Wow, you have inspired me. I think I might try it..............when my youngest turns 10 (that's 2 years)...no when my oldest starts driving, that's 5 years (might be similar to the experience of riding in the car with him!:rotfl:)...maybe when one of them graduates and goes off to college (that will be worth celebrating...)

Oh well. Maybe I will stick with something safer....Goofy, here I come!:rotfl2:

Can't wait to read more...you are a DIS magnet! :thumbsup2

YAY a new Gmax report!!!

So sorry ya started your trip out on a sour note but I'm hoping a dose of the Mouse made you feel better!

Your Mom is a doll...love all the pictures...the one of her fussing at you is

WOW...ya met a TON of DISers...how fun!:dance3:

Your RnR experience was hysterical!!:lmao:

Looking forward to reading more!

Day 4 - Tuesday 9/9 Cont.

After leaving MGM triumphant - and slightly dizzy - we ventured out for lunch. Since we rented a car this time, I thought we's go somewhere fun for our "counter-service" lunch. Hmmmm . . . Where would DISer MeMom go?
The Polynesian . . . No.
All Stars Music . . . No.
The Caribbean Resort . . . No.
Hmmmm . . . . I've Got IT! POP CENTURY!!!!

So we were off to MeMom's favorite place, her home away from home (Sorry DISers, I was tired so I don't have alot of pics. Check out MeMom's reports for some excellent pics). Upon entering Pop's parking lot, I was excited. This place ooozes fun, and nostalgia!

The lobby had display boxes for each decade.

IMG_3035.jpg

It was really fun seeing the ones from my childhood - especially the one with Atari and the games. I STILL have mine and about 20 games.

IMG_3034.jpg

After looking at ALL of the boxes and admiring the decor, we headed to the food court. I didnt realize that it was behind the gift shop. It's really cool how it's set up!

IMG_3036.jpg

The food court did have alot MORE to pick from than at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, BUT of the choices, the only thing I wanted was a burger. I know, I know, I thought I would get something else too, but that's what I got. The line was short, but it took FOREVER! After we finally got our food, I did remember to get the Tye Dyed Cheesecake. It was really cool, and it turned my tongue dark blue/purple!

IMG_3037.jpg

I like that the food court had booths. It was nice having a bit of personal space in such a public area. Especially since I was soooo tired and hungry.

After we left Pop, guess what we did? Took a break in the room folks! Yes, this is the best part about staying ON property in a nice room - the breaks!

We were only in the room about 2 hours, because we had dinner reservations at The Wave at 5:30. BUT! Since it wasnt threatening to rain, we left the room a little early to purchase tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!!!!! (which is usually referred to here on the DIS as "MNSSHP")
When I tried to purchase the tix at the conceirge desk in the lobby, I was told that I could only get the DVC discount on the tix AT the Magic Kingdom (MK) ticket booth. UGHHHH!

When we got to MK, the guy in the booth told me that there was no DVC discount for the party. I then told him, that there was, and I was directed to come here to receive it, and to please check again. Yes, I said this nicely. Well, he "checked" and BEHOLD, the discount was found. So folks, always have them check. Don't just say "okay" and fork over the bucks!

My Mother and I then went over to the Contemporary Resort (CR). This would be our first time visiting! I was REALLY excited. We ended up getting there about 30mins early. There was no where to sit outside of The Wave, so we sat in the lounge on the floor above. Well, this is the most UNDisney floor in the place, AND there was a conference going on. So sit my Mother and I, in matching t-shirts that I made us 2 years ago, trying to look dignified amongst "the suits".

I put this on the back of mine . . .

IMG_0372.jpg

When it got close to our reservation time, we went back down to The Wave. The place looked REALLY classy, and I felt under-dressed. But, there was no dress code.

IMG_3038.jpg

Tonight, we were going to meet up with DISer Earljam and his wife. Also, in a separate reservation was Aubriee, her ex, her Mom, PennConn and his Bf.

IMG_3041.jpg

I LOVED the decor of this place. Very classy, and soothing tones. The waiting area inside the restaurant had blue ceiling lights, which really set a cool, classy atmosphere!

IMG_3039.jpg

IMG_3040.jpg

For dinner, I ordered the Linguini - with Florida littleneck clams and rock shrimp with chunky tomato broth $21.99. It was just ok. It was LOTS of pasta with a tiny bit of clams and shrimp. Not worth the price.

IMG_3042.jpg

My Mother ordered the Fish - with corn and edamame stew served with cilantro chutney $20.99. I can't remember what kind it was. I'm NOT a big fan of fish, but her's was GREAT! It was seasoned well, and melted in your mouth. The veggies that came with it were delicious. I ended up eating then off her plate.

IMG_3043.jpg

Earljam had the Braised Lamb Shank - with bulgur wheat-lentil stew and red wine sauce $25.99. Yes, I tasted his food too. The lamb was very tender, and tasted good! Doesn't look like something off of The Flintstones?!

IMG_3044.jpg

I THINK Earljam's wife got the Seasonal Vegetable Stew- with multigrain rice $17.99. It was plated well, and she said that it was very good.

IMG_3045.jpg

For dessert, we all shared. My favorites are in BOLD. We ordered:

Two of: Creamy Indulgence - cheesecake with raspberry coulis, coconut panna cotta with passion fruit drizzle, chocolate pasion fruit mousse with pecan-olive brittle $7.99

Decadent Flavors - blueberry compote with yogurt gelato, lemon cornbread with vanilla panna cotta, chocolate mousse with salted caramel sauce $7.99

Crispy and Crunchy - vanilla-braised pineapple spears, almond-pineapple-raisin baklava, zucchini-carrot cake with vanilla panna cotta $7.99

IMG_3046.jpg

I enjoyed my meal (and the others) at The Wave, and will go back! But now, we were finished, and it was time to go the Halloween Party!

Thanks Earljam and "Mrs. Earljam" for adding us to your reservation! We really enjoyed our time with you!

Next up, the Halloween Party!
"Boo to you, and Trick or Treat!"

Day 4 - The Halloween Party

While on the monorail from the Contemporary to MK, my Mother and I put on our headgear - Mickey Ears on springs (thanks Vandy and Punkin for the idea!), and I started esembling our GLOW jewerly!

IMG_3053.jpg

Warning: The "costumes" above were stolen from VandyFan and Punkin.

Finally we got to MK, it was about 8pm. If I do this party again, I would eat counter service AT the park, so I could be there when it started.

Now this is when I had the writing skills of DISer "girlbomb"
(Here's her report: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1664049). Anyone who has been to the Party will know that my words will not do it justice. IT WAS A BIG BALL OF FUN!

Now you all know that I am the most Non-Disney, Disney fan. I don't do characters, shows, and parades. NO I don't - Deal with it! But FOR ME, the parade ALONE was worth the ticket price. I watched it TWICE! AND I took a bunch of video (which y'all know I still cant post).

Unfortunantly, I'm running out of time to write this bit, so here are a few pics . . .

There was a fog machine creating a "spooky" atmosphere before going under the train station. This pic doesnt do it justice . . .

Main Street . . .

IMG_3058.jpg

The lighting on Main Street was changed, giving it a very Halloween/October feel. I was surprised at how impressed and excited I was at being there!

As we walked down Main Street, they were doing at show at the castle. As you all know, I skip those. My Mother looked at me as if I was crazy, as I was walking AWAY from the show. I asked if she wanted to watch it. She did. So I sat on a curb while she watched. It was then I realized that I would have to pause for some "Disney-esque" stuff - insted of ride everything since the lines were low, pausing to take some pics here and there, then seeing the parade and fireworks.

After the show was over, we started to walk towards the Haunted Mansion. On our way, I noticed that people were lining the street, and ropes were up. I looked at my watch and realized that the parade was starting soon. I asked my Mother if she wanted to stop and see it. Apparently, still thrown from the fact that I didnt want to see the show, she gave me a half-hearted "yes". So yes DISers, I'm a bad tour guide and daughter. My mother was now a bit upset with me.

We waited a bit for the parade to start, and that "Boo To You" song started to play. OH LORD was this going to be a big ol' kiddie fest? Chucky Cheese on wheels? NO! This was going to be one of the highlights of my trip . . .

(Sorry, this clif-hanger was NOT intended. Gotta RUN!)

Go to Page 9!

I'm so glad that you got to stop by Pop Century and see my place! Which one of the shadowboxes did your mom like the best? I would love to be sitting out by the hippy dippy pool this morning as the sun comes up - enjoying the quiet, taking pictures of the bunnies, and watching the CMs doing all their a.m. chores.

The Boo to You Parade is so awesome! Jill, John, and Brooklynn will be seeing it very soon! They leave next Saturday. I'm so jealous, but she has promised to tape a lot of MNSSHP things for me, so at least I'll get to be there by way of video. Main Street is so beautiful dressed up in its fall attire, and the lighting as they get ready for the parade is so cool! I'm glad you and your mom got to do this.

I decided to check out your trip report after seeing all your great reviews of "home" over on the AKV owners thread. I love your report! That is so cool that you did RnRC too-you just cracked me up! :rotfl: And just for the record I have that same pink Mickey spring headband-good choice! :upsidedow Boma is one of our favorite places at Disney and its become tradition to have our last meal there before heading home. Glad I'm not the only one in love with that place. Very cool that you enjoyed MNSSHP too-even the parade! :woohoo: Don't feel bad, every now and then my family has to yank me out of commando ride mode and make me stop and smell the roses too. It's great that you met up with so many Dis'ers too-I've only met a handful so far, but everyone I did meet has been wonderful. Its so nice to put a face with the screen name. :) Can't wait to hear more. BTW...love your hair (I've been lurking on your loc report)!

I love Pop and have stayed there several times. I am glad that you had fun @ MNSSHP.

Well I will be checking into Fort Wilderness this morning. Hee Hee. That was my trip report Glendamax. LOL!

Stay Tuned!

Chucky Cheese on wheels? :rotfl2:
You are hilarious, Glenda! I'm not a character fanatic either, and I definitely didn't go out of my way to see the 3 PM parade. However, the Halloween and Christmas parades look like such fun. I definitely have to go sometime. Can't wait to read the rest of your update.

Hi Glendamax!

Just caught up on all your report. Sounds like you had a great trip!!! It's so fun to hear about all your dismeets. Everyone seems so nice and I love all the pics. We tried Boma this trip for the first time and loved it. We did breakfast. The girls still talk about how awesome it was. It was fun reading your first experience on RnRC. I have a love/hate relationship with that ride. I always ride it, but it scares me to death each time. :lmao: Looking forward to reading more of your trip and I hope you can get the videos to work.

It looks like a brontosaurus leg. Yabba dabba doooooooo!

:thumbsup2 Awesome. It sounds like you all are having such a good time. I am so glad you stopped to see the show and the parade, TWICE!!:thumbsup2

They started putting up the Halloween decorations when I was there at the end of August. I am going to try to go next October.....pending points of course! Kidani is calling!!
Regarding RnR.....I guess I have to find the courage to do the mini Mission Space....for some reason the thought of that just freaks me right the heck out but I go on everything else with no worries. As for RnR I go on but it kills my head....you see I am vertically challenged at only 5'2 :lmao: so my head knocks off the restraints! I have tried it all, leaning forward, back, etc! :confused3
Thanks for noticing my avatar! It's my miniature pinscher Ziggy driving my Mini Cooper!:rotfl:
