When do you take down the Christmas tree & put away the decorations?
As mentioned waaay back, I hosted a Harry Potter Thanksgiving event. It really was a lot of fun. I bought a few things from a local thrift store including a teacup & saucer by Adderley, the bottom of both pieces reads
Bone China England. Perfect for making HP Grim teacup from
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Which btw features one of my favorite actors, Emma Thompson as Professor Trelawney.
I did make and attempted a lot of HP crafts, some were more time consuming than others. I just didn't have time to finish all of them, even now.

Here's the Grim teacup I completed using Gorilla glue gel, Earl Grey tea, toothpicks and a
Micron 01 Fine Point Pen in black to dot the pattern. Wipes off clean if you make a mistake.

Omg, try placing a smidge of glue on a toothpick, dabbing it in the loose tealeaves and then applying it in a tight uneven surface.

Just nerve wracking!
Tip: Do not drink anything with caffeine before or during.

Lights on, lights off! I think everyone did a great job decorating the tree. We originally had the HP tree skirt down and lit but in December we had a
possible flea infestation so it was cleaned and put away at the request of our son. Weeks later, the house and both pups were cleared of fleas! I only found one on Sherlock after he played with another dog. Whew, what an intense time.
Oh, this is the last set from 2011 series that we bought DS, it's Harry Potter Diagon Alley 10217. He also has the miniature 40289 Diagon Alley from 2018.

And here are those pesky Cornish pixies taunting an innocent owl. A few pixies are also in the tree, I bought them at Universal during our fall trip near the castle wall.

My menfolk requested we do the HP event in 2024 which is fine by me.
Maybe I'll have time to complete the crafts I started...

I made this Santa years ago, he's actually my prototype. The porcelain head and hands came as a set without any instructions. I created a pattern for his body and clothes tweaking as I went along and he's the final product. From there I sold them and gave a few to friends. I'm not sure when craft stores stopped selling the boots, when I pulled Santa out of storage I had to buy a pair from eBay.
DH cut out the Nimbus from balsa wood and Watson thought it was his personal toothpick!

There was no time to make a new one.

The large mandrake needs more work then baked and all three need to be painted, decorated with leaves and planted.
I haven't even started on the dementor, I'm thinking dark grey paint and some sheer fabric should to do it.
Lastly I just need to find a pair of simple wooden frames for the lenticular cards.
Again, when do you take it all down?
