Can you add it to your app as a form of payment maybe? Then just use the scan and go for Gas? I’ve never tried it with a gift card but worth a try!

I'm sure it's morally wrong but I would probably try again at a different location.

So I didn't have a Sams Club membership and never really considered one because there are none near me. But I do have CashApp and was looking to see if there was a guest membership or anything so I could use the boost.

I came across this deal on Stack Social: One Year Membership for $24.99
I purchased it and the voucher to activate my membership came through instantly. I was able to purchase the one year membership on Samsclub.com using the voucher code to bring cost from $50 to $0 (I also activated a RMN offer for $10 cashback on new memberships- I'll let you know if tracks). I was happy to be able to activate the membership entirely online and receive an electronic membership card. It seems like I never have to step foot into a store to use it, though I can get a physical card if I do go into a store.

Anyway, I just purchased a $50 eGiftCard with my CashApp card and boost activated. $44.15 for the $50 card, or 11.7% discount. Obviously, I'm out more than that because I had to purchase the $24.99 membership. But, I'm hoping I can utilize this repeatedly over the next year (and maybe purchase a few other things and have them shipped to me) before I cancel at renewal time.

Maybe this is a good option for those who don't yet have a Sams Club membership. Icing on the cake if I get the $10 from RMN.

It *looks* like you can add a giftcard to your account online, but I can't promise you would be able to access it as a payment method in the app, bc I haven't tried.

I'm going to ask a stupid question - how do you use Sam's GC for gas? We tried and the pump doesn't accept them and the attendants had no clue. If I know how it's supposed to work maybe I can walk someone through it.

I get walmart + free with my amex platinum and then use the walmart+ app to pay at pump with wm gc. Works like a charm!

At Sam's using the app I would scan the qr code and it would ask which stored payment method to use (all cc no GC's have been stored for me) and there is an option to pay with another card but not sure if you can add gift cards there or not as I just always use the Sam's MC as it always gives 5% back unless Discover or Chase Freedom are doing gas at 5% and then I switch to those.

I've been able to use a GC as long as I tell them an exact amount below the GC balance. Don't tell them to fill.

I think the dates for the ShopRite offer are wrong. My local ShopRite circular in NJ (so outside of Maryland) says the offer is from 1/22 - 1/28. I think in Maryland the circular goes from Friday through Thursday so they just extend the offer to the end of the week which is why it is for 9 days. However, outside of Maryland where the circular runs from Sunday through Saturday, the offer is only for 7 days.

Thats at the Sam's stations, you can use Walmart+ and pay with a WM GC.

And this seems confirmed by the reports here. Walmart Pay claims to not work at fuel pumps but that's confusing because the W+ app says it's using Walmart pay for payment at the pump So could be outdated information or it's an enhanced feature only for W+.

The Walmart plus website is showing a free 30 day trial which would be enough to get through the GCs I have. But I also have a new Plat so maybe I'll have a use for that credit! I'm not a Walmart shopper so dismissed that new (ish) benefit.

According to Sam's Club accepted payments, physical GCs with a magnetic strip are supposed to work at the pumps. But these were what I tried over the summer and they failed. I'll probably retry that too, could have just been bad days.

Yea not sure, that is strange! I use the app which is linked to my virtual gift card I get from Capital One Shopping. I then select gas on the walmart+ app and scan the qr on the pump to link the two. And done! Works like a charm.

You're good to use it again. I usually do a charge again after 24 hours + 10-15 minutes after the time on my previous transaction.
