I could have sworn I posted a warning this was going to happen and commented it would continue through summer. We don't fly Southwest but many of you do and I thought it was important., but I cannot find the post! From my understanding, Southwest and American Airlines have been canceling flights.

Harris Teeter fuel points question - is there a limit to how many can be earned in a day, week or month? Long story short, I want to buy $1000 worth of disney GCs tomorrow and get the 4x fuel points (has to be tomorrow, and can’t be split into multiple trips - all part of the “long story”). But if there’s a maximum, I don’t want to exceed it and “waste” that spend.

So I got my $1000 of DGC at HT today. No problem with the fuel points - BUT I learned that HT won’t let you have a transaction of more than $500 that includes gift cards. I was buying a few things that I needed - I was using my Chase Freedom Flex to get 5% back on groceries and didn’t want to set off any red flags with Chase with an even purchase amount of $1000. The cashier had already rung some of my groceries when she got to the GCs and I told her $500 on each. She set them to the side and explained the policy. I should have just put $400 or $450 on each, and then split my groceries between the two, but there was a big line growing behind me so I felt bad making a whole “to do” about it. Hopefully Chase will still give me the 5x on points on the 2 $500 transactions.
