Has anyone come across any gift card deals/hacks on rental car companies? Specifically I'm looking at Avis right now, but I could be flexible for the right deal.

While on Discover I did not see Avis or any other car rental gift cards.
maybe check Rakuten

Just out of curiosity, if I bought merchandise (not gift cards) with an Am. Exp. offer when would I see a claw back? Would it be within the credit card statement period or a month or two later?

What has me a bit worried is seeing how Target (unrelated) is going as far back as 9 months.

You might have to think out of the box and book U-Haul or the like.

Such a lengthy ARTICLE but some have reserved a car only to find out there isn't one waiting for them or it's dirty.

I looked at Rakuten and they only have an offer of 2% cash back, which probably isn't worth it since it's not a platform that I currently use. (I use My Points and Shopkicks which don't have anything for Avis). But good thought!

I'm actually planning ahead for a January trip to Orlando so I hope that the rental situation will have stabilized a bit by then (fingers crossed). I'm also (tentatively) going to be picking the car up and dropping it off at my Universal hotel and taking a private car service to/from the airport. It comes out just about even in cost, but saves me two nights of hotel parking (almost $40) and the rental process is 1000 times quicker/easier at the hotel as opposed to the airport.

The good news is that I have the luxury of time. But if anyone come across anything, please let me know. I'd appreciate it.

My Amex (Hilton honors blue) has a $15 offer when you spend $100 at happycards.com. I just bought $100 of Happy Moments which includes Bed Bath and Beyond. I saw a previous poster was still able to churn for Amazon GC there. It's been a couple years since I have tried but I just might try. Otherwise will use when taking the ball team to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Can someone explain how to stack Rakuten and Dosh cash back when purchasing gift cards online at Sam's? I have used dosh a lot but lately I thought you had to click thru the app AND use your linked cc to get cash back. Is it possible to click thru Rakuten and use dosh linked cc and get cash back at both?

This is definitely a YMMV, but I’ve had decent luck (maybe 50/50) getting cash back from both. I don’t know if any of this makes a difference, but what I do is open Dosh, go to the Sam’s page, and click on the button to shop online (not pick up in store, because Disney GCs aren’t available for purchase that way). Then I go to Rakuten, click Sam’s there, and shop from there. Again, it doesn’t always work, but it’s worth a try! (Oh and I do all of this on my phone as opposed to my computer - again, no idea if that makes a bit of difference!)

I love Autoslash. Put in your travel dates and info and any memberships/discounts you might have, and they send you an email in a few minutes with links to the cheapest car rentals they found. I also love Costco Travel for car rentals, if you’re a Costco member.

Any idea if these could be used at Sam’s Club online to buy Disney cards?

Crazy deal! I just bought one $250 and it worked. Not sure if the SB tracked, but I got the email with the card number pretty quick. Maybe I should try for 2 more.

You can duplicate transaction on the same page, buy 3 $250.
There is a limit. If this is available tomorrow, you can do another $750.

Don't forget Swagbucks or TCB. Rakuten is 1%

Ordered two more but went through TCB this time. I had them in my inbox almost immediately.

These are the only DP's I have on Virtual Visa's located on Post #2 Discount District

Virtual Visa's DP:

Sam's Club accepts Prepaid Credit Cards instore ONLY.
Hopefully others will chime in as to VV.

I’m not sure I know exactly what a virtual visa is, but I’ve used prepaid visas (like the ones they sell at Office Depot and Staples) to buy GCs online at Sam’s many times. You can also register them in Rakuten to get cash back!

A virtual Visa card is a set of card numbers that are randomly generated, that is delivered instantly via email. The numbers represent your Visa card or bank account, but thieves can’t use the numbers to get your information or your money.

Virtual Visa cards are more secure than using regular debit and credit cards, leading many businesses to use them as a part of their payment processes.

You can use the virtual card to make purchases within a few minutes of its creation.

DoorDash: 50% Off With Promo Code HALFOFF2
Code HALFOFF2 works for 50% off next two orders $20 maximum discount. It’s supposed to be for new users, but working for existing users. Valid until 9/30/21. Doctor of Credit

I just booked a room only reservation at AoA for late November for a family suite. Had to put down 1 night deposit so roughly $500. Had to put it on my cc as I have no Disney GC'S (just decided on this trip last night). Is it possible once I accumulate some gift cards to call and have the deposit put on the GC instead?
