American Express Saying Cardholders Responsible For Some ‘Unauthorized’ Charges
I would like to point out that this seems to be a misunderstanding, and I'm sure that DoC will update once it is cleared up. I have personal experience with this from last summer/fall.

AmEx has an automated method to dispute merchant charges on their website. It is not meant for fraudulent charges, but instead for accidental overcharges, items not received, or other issues that cannot be resolved directly with the merchant. Unfortunately, the website does not clearly tell you that fraudulent charges need to be reported differently. Instead, they will simply deny the merchant dispute.

If your AmEx card is used fraudulently, you need to contact the AmEx fraud department by phone or chat. You won't be responsible for the fraudulent charges.

Thanks to @FoxC63 I’ve been perusing GCGalore recently to see if there’s good stuff I’m missing out on. Can anyone here share experiences going through AARP (frequently mentioned on GCGalore) for discounted gift cards? Just wondering how to get the best deals - points, membership, ? Are there hoops and is it worth it?

I'm planning to research this more because now I am intrigued. I've only briefly looked at their points earning system because it seemed odd. It wasn't a straight redemption. You had to use your points toward the chance to get a discount, or something like that. I joined AARP a few months ago because I got a one-year membership better than free with MyPoints and a CC offer. Are you already a member? If not, I received an email from Simply Miles this week and it showed 1000 pts for AARP (that's a card-linked AA miles program). You could combine that with Swagbucks or Mypoints. Update: There is some sort of a sweepstakes thing, but there are actually a few cards redeemable for points. I saw a $5 Safeway card for 25,000. The cards for purchase seem to range from 5-12% off with a couple at 20%. There are no Disney cards, mostly stores and restaurants. There are several grocery cards at 12% off. I'm going to try purchasing one of those.

Anyone use the BJ's app for coupon clipping? i had clipped one with what I thought was a March expiration date and now it's gone.

I let my aarp membership go because I didn't find any discounts that I truly could take advantage of. What discounts are you finding?

I'm not already a member, but I've already signed up for their email stuff through swagbucks so doubt I could get anything through them. Looking at the benefits I'm pretty doubtful I'd get anything out of that, I'm mainly looking at the miscellaneous gift card deal that you need a membership for.

I always clip digital coupons on my app. So easy! Most of mine went through fine except for a guac one. It was clipped but didn’t go through as clipped when I checked out. I always double check when I’m on the shopping trip to make sure the coupon is still good.

@Limes96 and @happ -
I rejoined AARP - went through mypoints paid $12 for one year. Used my CFF to pay and will get $8 back plus 2500 mypoints.

I have over 10,000 aarp reward points. Doesn't seem much there worth redeeming for. Is there a way to use those points to somehow get Disney GC?

If you are near one of the grocery stores that allow you to purchase GC with GC, there are some grocery store GCs that you can get with aarp points. I'm not sure which grocery store allows it since none near me do, but I have read others post about it.

Thanks. The grocery stores listed are not near me. Oh well. I would love to use the 10,000 aarp points, but they don't offer much.

It seems pretty easy to accumulate points by watching videos and other activities. Maybe you'll find something in the future.

That’s one of the things I was wondering - if they ever offered Disney gc at a discount. If I decide to join I’ll have to look around at my shopping portals for deals. DH is nearing retirement also, and I wonder if they could help us navigate the Medicare info which seems so confusing to us. I don’t think we have any of those grocery stores near us either, so that doesn’t help. It’s possible that their gc deals on other stuff may be worth it to join also. Looks like they have deals for smallish gc’s at >10% off.

Yes. I am not impressed with the “rewards”. Seems like my 10,000+ points will save me about $2 on a gift card. Not worth it.

I just tried to redeem an “instant win” $10 cvs gift card to see what happens. It was only 50 points but said I was not a winner. So what does “instant win” even mean?
I may look at the magazine options for 10,000 points and be done with them. I knew I cancelled because I didn’t see any benefit....
I won’t need to navigate Medicare for quite a few years. Probably won’t renew when the year is up.

Is gift card deal a valid place to get Disney gift cards? They have them at 15% and 20% off, but that seems like too much off. Does it work?

Never used them; but their website says their time to process orders is approximately 30 days. Seems like an awful long time to process an order for an egiftcard; but plenty of time to take your money and run.

Think of that option as a scratch-off lottery ticket. You gambled 50 points and lost.
