Updated 9/6**I must be crazy cause I took 5 kids to WDW alone! -

Aunt Flo! That's funny! I didn't catch it the first time I read it and wondered why you wouldn't want her to go(crazy aunt, a little bossy perhaps?) then I caught on. OH! THAT aunt Flo:lmao: Silly me. I wonder if everyone else caught it, or I'm the only slow one:snail:

Looking forward to reading more!

I'm here and waiting for your report.
:welcome: Make yourself at home

Yeah it's started and shhhhh I don't make a proper packing list either, don't tell as I don't want to get kicked off of the Moms Panel :rotfl:
Haha. I won't tell

Don't worry. I don't think my mom (daisyduck7) caught it either.;)

Another backstory - My niece and SIL also were joining us for a few days. My SIL's dad passed away right after my niece graduated from HS. They were planning a trip to NY for her graduation but obviously had to postpone it. So they asked if they could ride down with me and stay 4 nights in exchange for some babysitting. Well my mamma didn't raise no dummies (well maybe one but it wasn't me) so I said of course!

I started having doubts while at work. I even thought What have I done? How did I come up with this idea? It finally dawned on me what being away from my husband for 5 days would mean. I would have to do all the baths. All the disciplining. All the cleaning, food preparation, decision making, etc. I would have my SIL along for the drive down and in the condo and my friend Jenna for some of the trip but there would still be long periods of time I would be the only adult and still there is no replacement for your husband. We make such a great team how could anyone measure up to him?

But then when I realized I would still be at Disney World so I quickly dismissed my doubts and moved on.

So quitting time finally comes and I rush home to pick up everyone. At my last run to wal-mart I picked up some car chalk and decided to decorate the car. Unfortunately they didn't have lime green so I settled with blue. I wrote "Faith Trust, and Pixie Dust" on the back with WDW here we come down the sides. Here is a pic of baby Tau

We had so much drama in the van even before we hit Atlanta. My nephew was driving towards us on the interstate and somewhere around Douglasville called my niece and asked "Do you have blue writing all over the van because I think I just passed you?" We all had a good laugh. He was in a hurry because he was getting ready to propose to his GF that night. So we were following along with the drama by him texting us with constant updates. It was very fun to follow and made the time go by quickly.

BTW She said "YES"

:offtopic: So I have a question. What is your nephew's wife? Is she my Nephew-in-law?

Anywho. I was so proud of myself for being so organized this trip despite me not having a packing list. I had our route and driving directions printed out. All sorts of charts and graphs. I even had which exits had a cici's pizza because that is where the kids wanted to eat. I had decided on the Cici's in Macon, GA. We were making great time and we exited around 6 and everyone was ready to go potty and eat. The Cici's was a bit further away than I had thought. In fact about 10 minutes away from the interstate. When we finally saw the store everyone was getting excited and ready to eat.

However, when we made it to the door there was a sign that read

"CLOSED FOR REMODELING"

WHAT?

Have you ever told a child they could have pizza for dinner at their favorite restaurant then had to change it to something else? Imagine 5 of those because that is what we had in our van!

So we drove around Macon until we finally found a DairyQueen. It was ok but not what anyone wanted. We finally got back on the intersate after a 75 minute stop! Yep that's right 75 minutes! I was perturbed to say the least.

Back on the road again and we were making up time by driving the speed limit because my mom is reading this and she knows I would never speed ;) Made it through a few storms but overall was a great trip.

Until Delta passed gas in the van.

It started with the other kids complaining of the smell. I told them it couldn't be that bad and to leave Delta alone.

Then it came up front.

I don't know what that boy eats but my word! I had to roll the windows down (OK I didn't actually roll them down, I pushed a button which made them go down but you know what I mean). So I had to roll down the windows to let the gas out. My eyes were watering and I could hardly see the road in front of me. Everyone was gagging. My SIL showed me the air freshener that she had brought and sprayed some of it so I finally rolled the windows back up and all was well.

Around one in the morning we made it to our condo. Jenna had already checked in and was kind enough to meet us downstairs and help us with our bags. It was so great to see my friend again. We hugged but had to put off chatting until I could unpack and get the kiddos settled for the night. When I was helping Omicron with his bag he asked me "Who is that girl in there, is she our servant?"

No Omicron, She's my friend.

Oh, so this place doesn't come with a servant?

No, sorry to disappoint you my dear son.

I swear, How do they come up with these questions?

The kids were excited but fortunately were equally tired so they all went to bed and were soon fast asleep. Jenna and I chatted for a few minutes before hitting the bed ourselves.

I missed my husband and again questioned my sanity for doing this. But I was oh so exhausted from driving for 10 hours and soon found myself asleep dreaming of the adventures to come.

Next...Day 1 EPCOT

Niece in law:confused3

I've never heard of car chalk, cool idea :thumbsup2

"CLOSED FOR REMODELING"
Nooooooo

Yikes, being a boy though I bet he's proud of them :rotfl2:

"Who is that girl in there, is she our servant?"
OMG :rotfl:

"Who is that girl in there, is she our servant?"

:lmao::lmao: That is priceless!!

Sounds like you are off to an interesting start, so sorry you had to be in the van with that smell :sad2:.

Niece in law:confused3

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!
oh but yes it was. I think niece-in-law is the proper term :thumbsup2

Woohoo! And I'm with Janet - "Niece-in-law" works for me.

NO!!!!! (though I don't like Cici's, but still...)
I'm not a fan either but the kids love it and it is easy and cheap. We go to our local cici's about once a week. The problem was that I asked the kids where they wanted to eat and that is what they unanimously chose.

Oh, I can't believe CiCi's was closed for remodeling! That's just cruel!

"Is she our servant?" :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:
I couldn't beleive it either. I thought about calling before we left but thought "what for? I already have directions." Sometimes if only I would listen to myself.

Hi.:earsboy:

I just found you TR. I'm subbing because I can't wait to hear how it went! popcorn::
:welcome: thanks for coming over!

Servant? Where on earth did he come up that from? :rotfl2:

What is Cici's? :confused3
I don't know where he got that from. I promise we don't have servants at home.

Cici's is a cheap pizza buffet place. When we first got married Delta, Omicron, and Tau were free and the other two were $2.99 and the adults were $4.99 so we could all eat for around $16 plus tax for a meal. But now only tau is free and the prices have increased somewhat. It now costs around $24 which still isn't bad for our family size. We usually get water but when we splurge and get drinks it is around $32. The food is just ok. They have a salad bar, breadsticks, pizza, pasta and desserts.

I've never heard of car chalk, cool idea :thumbsup2
I think it is colored shoe polish in a different container.

:lmao::lmao: That is priceless!!

Sounds like you are off to an interesting start, so sorry you had to be in the van with that smell :sad2:.
Hi MrsK. :welcome: the smell was only brief but stuck in my mind

Great report!

Servent:rotfl2:
:welcome: thank you!

More is coming soon. I am waiting for my mama to catch up :rolleyes1

I've always had the worst luck when traveling through Macon. It's like hte Bermuda Triangle of Georgia. :headache:

Ok Aunt Flo = TMI

The passing gas was too funny.

Sorry the place was closed.

Great start so far.

Well, well, well. I turned my back for just a moment, and what happens? DD :laundy: airs everything for everyone to read.......was that some great stuff or what? Yep, it did take me a while to figure the Aunt Flo thing, but that was because DD's ex really had an Aunt Flo, and she did die a while back, that was why I made the remark about her having checked out, so that did throw me off for a while. But, Eureka! I did finally get it.
About the moon thing.......that was a really AWESOME full moon that night, and I wasn't really thinking that clearly.......I guess I was MOONSTRUCK :lovestruc :rotfl::rolleyes1;) But anyhow, I hope everyone gets a good chuckle from that story. We all did at the time, and every now and again someone will bring it up, and we all start with the giggles again. Life is far too short to take ourselves so seriously. Laugh, Live, and most of all.......LOVE, especially the children.

That is an accurate description. Always construction. Always bad weather. Usually a wreck. Yikes!

Ok Aunt Flow = TMI

Sorry scott about the TMI  I should have had a disclaimer.

Wondering when you would be back. Now that you are caught up we can continue.

Can't wait to hear more! I've been contemplating taking our 4 kids by myself, but I really don't think I could do it! (I'm paticularly wondering how you managed to do bathroom breaks when you were the only adult there, and whether or not you did any buffets.) I'm looking forward to your next post!

Just a few lines today. Yesterday when I wrote that about the family laundry, I kept having to go back and forth between the disboard:disrocks: and the fishbowl client program because of interruptions. When I finally got done with it and got ready to post it IT WAS GONE, GONE, GONE! All those beautiful paragraphs, sob, sob, sob, just seem to have vanished pixiedust::teleport:into thin air. I mean, like one minute it was there, and the next, it was PFFFFFT, gone. I had shared a little about several different things, including the fact that I beat two teenage boys in a burping contest about 6 years ago:woohoo:. I was really proud:cheer2: of that feat. By the way, yesterday was Omicron's :happytv::bday:party:, he turned 7:banana:. Well, I need to go for now. Bye, bye, everyone:wave:. Come back to see us, Sugah.:surfweb: Hugs :hug:and kisses:love2: for all.

Bathrooms. This was a big deal for me and I had thought about it for a long time before leaving. Of course Tau still goes in with me. I wouldn't mind taking Delta and Omicron in with me but Alpha just seemed too old IMO. So we did let them go into the boys rooms.

On the drive down I just found the cleanest, brightest gas stations and took turns with my SIL standing outside the door. I always checked first to be sure there was only one entrance/exit and no windows. In the parks I tried to pick RR inside restaurants because those seem less busy. But when we did have to go inside the parks it was the same thing - just checking to be sure it only had one entrance/exit and just standing outside the door. I felt better knowing they were all together and they had to enter together and exit together. Hope this helps.

How old are your kids?
