Oh My Tammi! I am so sick to my stomach for you. What an awful thing to go through. Please don't feel like you need to get everything taken care of instantly. Deal with the loss first, the planning for arrangements, etc., before moving on to the paperwork. You do not need to take anything additional on right now.

I'm also so very sorry to hear this. I'm not a counselor but work in an office with many of them. One of the things that you do need to do as other have said is take each day at a time. There will be times, like you are doing today, questioning about things you could have done or think if you did this or that it wouldn't have happened. Take those thoughts and work through them - if you don't you will put much more blame on yourself than is needed. And if needed, please don't be afraid to seek out help from a counselor or a friend when you are having these thoughts. Talking it through helps much - or even online. I too am not a good "in-person" griever. I like to be able to sit and cry in private and as hard and loud as I need to. Being able to speak to my friends online helps me do that. Hopefully it will also help you.

Tammi, I am so, so sorry to hear about this. Just please know that what your dad did was not your or any of your family's fault. I had a very good friend of mine commit suicide and it is very hard to swallow. You can sit there and say, "What if I'd done this or what if I'd done that." None of it would've made a difference.

I will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs to you and hopefully hugging your kitties will give you some comfort. Take care and I hope you can find some comfort.
