"UPDATE"Trees have been sent ! 3rd annual,DVC Christmas Tree, Sharing alittle Magic !

:hyper2: Well its our first trip home and I just saw this posting; what a way to add some Chritmas Magic to DVC Home!! We would love to participate but unfortunately we won't have transportation or know enough about the area to actually purchase the tree.

We will be at SSR from December 4-9th. Let me know what is expected of us inorder to particpate.

It may be a bit early for this but, Merry Christmas to all our DVC neighbors and family.

I updated the list....

H.Richburg i can squeeze you in for the dates dec. 4-7 please make sure you drop the tree of at the front desk on dec. 7 by 11am.

Jesusisalive i put you on a waitlist for your dates dec. 18-23, we only have one tree at OKW and the dates are getting filled.

WDWStar; thanks fo rthe reply and great news. I appreciate your efforts in making what I think is a great tradition available to your Disney Family.

Happy Holidays!!

wdwstar - Just sent you a PM about the tree exchange. I am obviously way behind this year but have a tree for you, if needed. I donated the BCV tree last year.

We just booked BWV for Dec 19-23! This will be our first trip "home" for the Holidays! We would love to participate if any availability! :Pinkbounc

Won't be down there during the Holidays, but would love to send some ornaments, and even some $ for the tree shipping. Coming down in two weeks.....is there someplace/someone to contact while at BCV to donate? Love the magic of Disney and Christmas combined!

We have freinds joining us at the BWVs December 16th-22nd. I am donating a second tree so they may have one too.

Is that okay???

Soooooo any BWV Christmas people.... there is a new tree in the que!!!

Where did you get your tree??

AND... I got a PM today from one of my tree buddies... asking about decorations for the tree and it got me thinking...

I was planning on shipping the trees down in the original box, which will not really have enough room for decorations, esp for the trip back to me...... should I ship a second box with a few tidbits in it, and enough room for others to add some things??

HELP!!!!!!!!!!! :wave2:

We were in Tennessee, Pigeon Forge area. There are lots of Christmas outlets there. Ours didn't come in a box, it came in a plastic bag, but that's OK, even if it had, I was going to take it to one of the boxing places because the other things that need to be included couldn't be stuffed in with the tree in the selling box. We had one of the BWV trees last year, and I believe that's what was done, it was a box in the box. One thing that I think should be included is an extension cord. The BWV tree had a little notebook attached for memories or note writing. I've bought a notebook. We bought some ornaments for people to take, (There is a Christmas store in Pigeon Forge that actually engraves the ornaments for free!) and the only thing that I want to include is some sort of Christmas candy.

We went back and forth between fiber optic and "balsam" type, but for the VWL, we went with the "balsam." Once again, even with just DH and myself, we have strong feelings about what a tree should look like. Enjoy the trees!!!!! This is a great tradition!!!!

Bobbi

I never thought about a box in a box! LOL Awesome.

I do plan on providing a book for people to include notes... and then keep that same book over the years!

I wouldnt have never thought about an extension cord!!! Good idea!

Now... do I get the 42 inch tree or the 60 inch :-)

I bought one for last year and got a great tip that Hobby Lobby runs a great sale on their Christmas trees early in November. Sure enough I watched the adds and they were offering 40% off of all their artificial trees one week. I got a tree and all the decorations and didn't spend more than $40. I even put in red felt mittens and some white fabric paint for each family to put their names on, which they all did last year. I had lots of fun with it.

Oh my GOSH ! I just looked at all the arrival dates and it looks like everyone that is donating a tree to check your first families arrival dates so you can make sure you are ready to ship your trees. This year it looks like we will be starting in Nov.

The end of this week i will post about labeling the box with a list of your familes last names and arrival dates. I also add a roll of tape , a black marker, extra family list , a set or two of christmas lights for the balcony, exstention cord, envelope for donations to help with the shipping and the kitchen sink, whoops ok not the kitchen sink but anything else you would like to add for your families.

I usually use Fedex, it usually cost me $6 from IL. to FL. up to $100 insurance included.

i will also ask soon for last names and conf. arrival dates, plus a few rules, oh i hate rules, but we all have to have rules, at least they are very simple and dont even seem like rules. Please dont pm me yet with last names until i fine toon the list and add a few more families.

Thank you to all that made this possible and for the families that are joining us this year.

You're thinking of just everything! I cannot wait to get there for the holiday season! Now, what ornament to add? :confused3

wdwstar,

I haven't heard how the Beach Club feels about this Christmas tree swap especially storage etc, with these trees. I am a little nervous about their feelings about this. I mentioned this awhile back but never heard. Anyone know? Thanks ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo
