The doctor talked to my dad today. The ovarian cyst is like 6inches so I will have to have an operation. We're not yet sure how major it will be. I might have to miss some school...I hope it doesn't force me to put off gradition...*whimper*

I'm sorry I must have missed the thread that said what was going on here. It sounds, though, as if you have an ovarian cyst and you'll need surgery.

I was 28 when I had an ovarian cyst that ruptured while my now DH and I were watching a local production of "Sound of Music." I went to the OB/GYN and he put me in the hospital immediately. I was told before the laproscopy that they would do anything from just that procedure to a complete hysterectomy because they weren't sure what they would find when they looked.

As it turned out, they just had to remove the cyst, both ovaries were intact, and I had endometriosis. I had to recuperate for about 8 weeks. They told me in recovery that I kept saying "I love Stu. Can I have babies?" over and over again. We did, in fact, have to adopt years later, but it was not as a result of the cyst or the surgery.

You will get through this and medical science is marvelous! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
