Update! Tarzan Rocks Closing -Replacement Rumor on pg 8!

I have the feeling that my mom is going to make the family watch it when we go in May now.
I cannot stand this show. It's not my cup of tea.

I'm very upset the show is leaving. We love it. It doesn't matter that it isn't Phil Collins singing, we still love the music. The skaters are just great and fun to watch, too. I love the part where Tarzan and Jane are flying around. It's a really impressive sight to see. :sad2: The weird part of this rumor is that there was a Jungle Book show there before Tarzan and we didn't like it.

Probably the only show in all of WDW that I saw once and never care to see again.

We saw "Tarzan Rocks" last summer and my whole family left the theater wondering why the show didn't have that "Disney feel" to it. And no, we won't be going back to see it in June.

I'm not sure if taking the show away is the best idea, what about revising it?

But I have to say that I LOVE the idea of a Jungle Book show instead. I love JB...it's one of my all-time Disney favorites!

I thought I was the only one that hated Tarzan Rocks. I'm so happy I'm not the only one!

The noise FROM EE? Last summer DH and I were walking along the path from Asia toward Dinoland while a performance of Tarzan Rocks was going on. From where we were, it was so loud, we wondered how anyone could stand the noise if they were IN the theater. I wonder how loud they expect EE to be if it might interfere with Tarzan Rocks.
I'm totally with you! I was in the same position a couple weeks ago. Walking towards Tarzan Rocks, it was really loud and obtrusive. I won't miss it.

That's not to say that the acrobatic portion of the show was lacking. It certainly wasn't. It just felt really forced. And it was much louder than it had to be. I want Disney to lure me in, not slap me in the face.

I look forward to a new show (and A/C!)

As someone who wasn't planning on watching Tarzan Rocks!, I have to say that when I did see it, I completely enjoyed it.

First of all, I watched Tarzan about two weeks before we left for Disney and didn't like the movie much, but just loved the songs. But still, when we made our itinerary for AK, Tarzan Rocks! was not on the agenda.

Lo and behold, we did everything on our list in AK and still had a couple of hours to burn. Being that it was hot, we went looking for shade and found the Tarzan Rocks! pavillion. We enjoyed the show, enjoyed the music and enjoyed the high-flying stunts.

I think the soundtrack is one of the better Disney soundtracks out there. It's not old-fashioned, but neither am I. I'm a gen-Xer, so it appeals to me. And man, if you don't get the chills listening to....

Come stop your crying, it'll be all right.
Just take my hand, hold it tight.
I will protect you, from all around you.
I will be here, don't you cry.

For one so small, you seem so strong
My arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm
This bond between us, can't be broken
I will be here, don't you cry.

My wife would sing this song to our little boy after he was born. It's such a pretty song.

I'm a little disappointed they're getting rid of Tarzan Rocks!, but I trust Disney's imagineers' judgement, and I'm sure they'll make a great attraction in its place.

It's just a shame I won't be able to see Tarzan Rocks! again this December.

But c'mon... the guitar was like a glittery blue. Did he steal that from Quiet Riot? :rotfl2:

Not my favorite Disney show, that goes to the Lion King show, but we like the performer Billy from the show and would miss him. Maybe he'd be in a new show though. And YES, a/c is good anywhere in AK.

As far as You'll Be In My Heart, I love that song as well, has to be one of my favorite Disney Songs. During the filming of the Christmas Parade Billy sang it for us waiting for Wynonna to perform. :goodvibes

Not my favorite show, but it was fun watching my BIL and sister last Christmas while they watched it. My sister REALLY liked Tarzan.

Tarzan Rocks wasn't on my list to see this upcoming trip and it still isn't. I like Tarzan and I love the music in it, but the show didn't do anything for me. I can't put my finger on why or tell you a specific thing I didn't like, but seeing it once was enough for me.

I won't miss Tarzan Rocks as is, but agree a revised version might be a good idea or maybe a "general" jungle characters type show, somehow incorporating Jungle Book and Tarzan. I don't have any ideas on how to do that though.

I didn't like it, but my DH did.

I rememember Jungle Book being there before Tarzan and we never went.
Jungle Book sounds pretty lame.

Wow, actually I'm surprised that anyone likes the music at all! I though the songs were some of the worst 'pseudo-rock' crud I've ever heard. I got chills all right, chills of terror that I might be trapped forever listening to that sound. But hey, to each their own.

And I'm a Disney fanatic who is definitely 'really into the Disney magic' so I certainly disagree with you on that point.
Add me to that list. I LOVE Disney and am quite a fanatic, and this show is definitely not one of my faves. I don't think this makes me not experience the magic at all.

I'm not a big Phil Collins fan either, but I certainly thought Tarzan was, um, easy on the eyes ... ::yes::

Here's a question for those of you who said that you "suffered" through the show. Why didn't you just get up and leave? Since this is not a ticketed event, you're not losing any money . . . :confused3
When you are sitting in the handicapped section in the catwalk it would be very hard to exit when the skaters are everywhere. Makes sense, doesn't it?

I think the "one world - one family" theme is PERFECT for Disney! :flower: :grouphug: :goodvibes

We only love the music from this movie, because of the Tarzan Rocks show! The Jungle book show was not very good...and we love the JB!

I hope this is only a rumour.. I have NO idea what I will tell my son! Right now, the only reason he eats his fruits and veggies and does lots of excercise is that he wants to play Tarzan in that show!!

Do Disney offer counselling for departed shows and rides!? :rotfl2:

I agree 100%. We've never seen the show, never want to see the show if for no other reason than the unacceptable volume of the noise. I think that that chunk of real estate can be put to a much higher and better use with something that has a broader appeal.

I am so upset. Tarzan is one of the best shows at DW. It is the reason my DH loves to go the AK. He is a professional musician and says it is one of the only shows that has real talent. We are going to miss it.

My daughter & I love the Tarzan show (other than the fact that it is hotter than hot on that theater). Seems like people feel strongly in either loving or hating it, but we will definitely miss it.
