As someone who wasn't planning on watching Tarzan Rocks!, I have to say that when I did see it, I completely enjoyed it.
First of all, I watched Tarzan about two weeks before we left for Disney and didn't like the movie much, but just loved the songs. But still, when we made our itinerary for AK, Tarzan Rocks! was not on the agenda.
Lo and behold, we did everything on our list in AK and still had a couple of hours to burn. Being that it was hot, we went looking for shade and found the Tarzan Rocks! pavillion. We enjoyed the show, enjoyed the music and enjoyed the high-flying stunts.
I think the soundtrack is one of the better Disney soundtracks out there. It's not old-fashioned, but neither am I. I'm a gen-Xer, so it appeals to me. And man, if you don't get the chills listening to....
Come stop your crying, it'll be all right.
Just take my hand, hold it tight.
I will protect you, from all around you.
I will be here, don't you cry.
For one so small, you seem so strong
My arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm
This bond between us, can't be broken
I will be here, don't you cry.
My wife would sing this song to our little boy after he was born. It's such a pretty song.
I'm a little disappointed they're getting rid of Tarzan Rocks!, but I trust Disney's imagineers' judgement, and I'm sure they'll make a great attraction in its place.
It's just a shame I won't be able to see Tarzan Rocks! again this December.
