UPDATE Prayers and Pixie dust for my Furbaby...

Well today is my birthday and instead of being happy and excited I'm very nervous and upset.I took my 15 year old 'Cali " to the vet yesterday as she was crying all night long the night before (something she has never done before)and was terribly restless. The vet examined her and could not find anything wrong but gave her a shot of Dexamethasone and Penicillian to see if there was any change, Unfortunately she had another bad night and I returned with her this morning and had to leave her there for a few hours so they could put her to sleep for a little bit in order to do bloodwork and take x-rays.I'm praying to God that she'll be alright! I want more time with her!

I hope it's nothing serious and the vet can help Cali. It is distressing when our furbabies are ill, I know.

By the way, today is my birthday too. Hopefully you'll hear good news from the vet that whatever is wrong with Cali is treatable, and you can enjoy the rest of your special day.

Happy birthday and big hugs to you and Cali. I grew up with a lot of loved pets, so I know how devastating it is when your furbaby is in pain and you don't know how to help. Hoping to hear good news.

It's been along and stressful day for us but the vet just called awhile ago and said that Cali was waking up and that her xrays showed no signs of tumors and that her kidneys were clear and empty (due to dehydration)and that he would have the bloodtest results tomorrow, so they are keeping her overnight to medicate and force fluids .My dd6 was devastated that Cali would not be home tonight( as the two of them sleep together )and she has been very busy coloring all kinds of pictures for Cali's homecoming tomorrow!I will update when she comes home in the morning.Thank you all for your prayers!

After a very long night Cali is finally home! Unfortunately the blood test results showed Kidney failure( even though the xrays showed normal ).The vet was shocked because Cali never presented with ANY of the symptoms.She is very lethargic and doesn't seem interested in anything right now, but she does get up and move around so at least she won't get so stiff,the vet said to watch her over the next 2 days and make sure she is drinking and eating .She is taking a drug to reduce the blood pressure so that the kidneys don't have to work so hard- hopefully it will work and she will show some improvement .

I just prayed tht Cali will be alright. I'm sorry she didn't get a better report.
I got a really bad report on my cat back around Christmas time. At first there seemed to be no hope. Now you would think he was a kitten again. Sometimes prayers help.

It is amazing how attached we get to our little furry friends, isn't it??? I will say a prayer that Cali rallies.
