Update - our 12yo dog sitter worked out really well!

Just to be sure he understood everything, we left him with written instructions when to walk, etc.
I called the boy on our first night and checked in with him and everything was going well. We got home a little early on our last day and the boy pulled up on his bike to walk our dog We paid him and thanked him so much! He said he would do it for us again anytime. btw we were gone for 2 nights, maybe we would feel comfortable leaving doggie for a week with this arrangement.

We have a neighbors daughter watch our dogs when we go away and it works out very well.

I'm not opposed to using a kennel but if I can find someone to come to my house, I'm all for that!
