Hello, I wrote a post a. Couple of days ago asking if it was possible to upgrade a 14 day ultimate to a 21 day ultimate. Lots of you said it wasn't, well I phoned the WDW travel company today and it is. We don't arrive til 21st July so plenty of time yet, the lady said it was possible and put me on hold, she came back about five mins late to tell me it would cost me £92...the difference basically between the 14 and 21 day tickets. She took our names and birth dates and cc details. I have since been emailed the invoice and the new ticket will be emailed to me in the next 48 hours.

She said I had to link the new ticket the same way I did before, however she said there was a risk of losing my fastpasses, she gave me a number to call if I had problems. However I have looked and still plenty fastpasses available for the rides we wanted. Our meals reservations of course, will not be affected by this.

Just thought I would post in case anyone else found themselves in the same situation.

Didn't see your earlier post glad you got it sorted.

I always thought it was possible, we've switched from 14 to 21 and back again for next years trip due to changing our Celebration week from the first week to the third week and back again!

Considering the amount you'd spend in the parks for the extra week id doubt they would care!

My next question is does anyone have any experience of transferring fastpasses from one ticket to another? I know some of you have upgraded to AP whilst there. Did you have your FPs transferred over?

I'm pretty sure that's a call to the MDE tech line: 0800 169 0749

Thanks Jon, the lady gave me the number when I upgraded, they haven't yet emailed me my new tickets so will have to wait for that. Did you have to wait long for your new tickets to arrive when you upgraded?

FP+ are not linked to tickets
They're linked to your mdx account

Nothing to do when you switch tickets

If you have the ticket number or order number you probably can link them on mdx with that number

Are you sure Chmurf? The lady on the phone said linked to tickets. I hope they are linked to account, that would be awesome!

It's kind of both. They are linked to your account, but you must have active tickets to have them in your account. So I think you should be ok.

It's linked to your account
You can't make fp+ selections without a ticket, so in a sense it's linked but the fp+ are not ticket specific

You could have several tickets on your account, the fp+ doesn't belong to a ticket

Let me give you an example

You want to make a reservztion for a posh party in your neighborhood

To make this reservztion you need to provide a form of ID. (Same as you need to 'show' some form of ticket to be able to book fp+)

You use your passport with 14 days left of validity on it

Now you're on the List

In the days leading to the party, you decide to!renew your passport
You surrender your passport, but your name is'still on the list

You show up with the new passport with 21 days of validity left on it, nobody will care it's not the passport you booked the party with

Yes, I totally get this, thanks. That would explain why it let me book FPs for my parents at my sixty days out, even tho they arrive five days after us!

is 60 days when you can book FPs?
we're more than 360 days away, but i have to start getting into planning mode...
it's been so long since i've been with the whole family, i have to learn about what's required of me (to be the good disney nazi planner that i'm supposed to be)...last time we went with the whole family was in 2011.....since then pretty much everything has changed...

If you stay onsite, and both hotel stay and tickets are linked to your MDX

if you don't stay onsite, then it's 30 days

thanks!
yes, we'll be staying onsite...i've booked the UK free dining package at SSR (for all 8 of us), including 21 day ultimates.
it seems like a long way off, but i know how that time flies. before too long i'll have to make the dining reservations!!

now that i think about it - will i be able to book all FPs, for all three families from my disney account?

it's going to be pretty confusing, considering we'll have two toddlers with us..

if you've booked for 8 people, they'll all be under the same reservation. So they'll all be on your MDX from the start, just like your own family

if you have separate reservations you can still plan for other people by having them in your family and friends, as long as they allow plan sharing

but if the 8 people are booked under the same reservation, you're all set. They'll all show up on your own account.

thanks! it's two reservations as it's two separate rooms.....i would have booked together, but disney doesn't allow it

if both reservations are linked to the same MDX account, there should be no issue
if they're on 2 separate accounts, just invite the lead guest to share plans with you, on your profile/family and friends and have that guest (you or whoever manages the acocunt) accept to share plans

it all sounds slightly complicated, but hopefully it will all work out :)
