Update on new CR shop please!

Bay View Gifts still looks open, according to the photos. I must admit, the new shop looks much better at night; those day shots made it look, as the previous poster remarked, like a temporary location. Is anyone underwhelmed by the conception and location?

Thanks on the explanation of PTN.

I don't like all the changes with the resort. I liked the Food and Fun Center, and a "canyon" on the 4th floor. But the lobby should look amazing. Bay View gifts didn't close during the construction.

That is the new location for the store, besides why would they go threw all that construction to build it if it was only a temporary home like you said?

I definitely realize that. My post meant that the appearance of the store made it "like" a temporary-looking store. I agree that Disney would not go through all that trouble for something temporary. :)

Exactly. It's like they're trying to fill up every square inch of the hotel with retail space or something. I loved being able to sit in the open space and watch people and the monorail go by.

That amazing artwork by Mary Blair shouldn't be blocked, IMHO.

The shop IS cute. I just think that the location is bad. Had they kept the Food and Fun Center, they could have worked it in there.

I agree, it's disappointing that there is now limited space just to sit in the concourse. I liked the orignial design for the new store which was more spread out in the north concourse and also used features from the hotel back in the 70's with the faux tress and such. Once the DVC Tower opens, the 4th floor is going to be even more congested!

I totally agree! Especially with that planned walkway (if that comes about) between the towers. The Food and Fun Center gave kids a HUGE place to go, and the concourse had so much walking space. There is just so much being crammed into the 4th floor now.

I never saw the original design of the store.
