We have an appointment Wed. morning at 8 am with the specialist out of Unv. of Penn. They have already scheduled surgery (tenatively, just in case!) for the following Mon or Tues. (30th or 31st). They have faxed over lab slips that they want done for preadmission testing. I imagine Dennis will get these done before he even sees the doctor on Wed. The chest x-ray is important to make sure that this isn't in the lungs (there is a possibility that the cancer actually started somewhere else and migrated to the tonsil and lymph node) I hope and pray that in 2 weeks time, I am here, complaining what a lousy patient my DH is and that he is driving me nuts!!
Just so much to think about now. His sister and her husband are pretty freaked out because his mother passed away from this type of cancer - it was in her lungs. As long as the cancer is limited to the area that we can see, everything should be a breeze.
My sister in law and her family are coming up to the shore for the last week of Aug/1st week of Sept. She has offered to take the kids down with them for the week of Dennis' surgery. I ran it past the kids and really freaked them out!! They do NOT want to go and leave their dad. This is also the first week of school (on top of everything else, I have to deal with this!!
) I'll tell her later, thank you for the offer, but the kids would rather stay home. I hope she understands.
Well, I guess that is the latest in this mess. Thanks for listening to me ramble. If there are any questions that you think would be helpful in asking the doctor or any suggestions you can think of to help my hair from turning completely gray, please feel free to let me know!! I can use all the help I can at this point!!
