This all happened in one hour! I can't believe how quickly all of this happened. I used to love Michael when i was growing up. There was this rivalry between the Osmonds and the Jacksons back in the 70s. But i loved them both. I recently saw Donny Osmond in Vegas and he said he was supposed to sing "Ben" but Michael got it and did a beautiful job with it.

Not all news outlets are reporting a death.... I'll wait until the major news outlets start reporting. From all reports he is in a very serious state.

I think he was terribly messed up emotionally and I feel terrible for his children and what will happen to them.

I'll always remember him from Thriller. What came later I cannot judge. I just feel bad for his kids.... it's really too bad.

They are reporting it now on my local news.

Wasn't he just about to launch a comeback tour in England?

I'm looking at everything I can right now, CNN.com, CNN on TV, TMZ and sadly, TMZ is usually correct. If I remember correctly they were right about Heath Ledger when he passed away...

Regardless, how sad for everyone involved.

[Updated at 2:46 p.m.: Pop star Michael Jackson is in a coma and family have are arriving at his bedside, a law enforcement source told The Times.

Jackson was rushed to a hospital this afternoon by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.

Capt. Steve Ruda said paramedics responded to a call at Jackson's home around 12:26 p.m. He was not breathing when they arrived. The parademics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told The Times.

That is true, yet they made a really big deal to point out that very few people survive cardiac arrest if they are down more than 10 minutes. It took 10 minutes to transport him to the hospital. It would be wonderful if TMZ was wrong, but it doesn't look good.

But I will say (again) TMZ doesn't usually mess up this stuff. While there may be some "wiggle room" he may be being kept alive via life support systems but I don't think he is coming back from this.

How sad for his family.

He was truly one of the greatest talents of the last several decades. He was one of a kind, and I do not think anyone else could ever match his talent. Truly an amazing singer.

However, is think it is sad he will be remembered just as much for being the weird, strange eccentric character he became as he will for his music. Since the mid 90's Micheal has almost been a joke and i just hope in years to come people will remember his talent more than his eccentricities. I don't believe he molested children, i think he was just very weird and did not know how to deal with life. Forever trying to capture a lost childhood....

I hope his children will come through this OK.

Two of the 3 major news stations here in New York reported the news. But channel 7 eyewitness news said he was still in a coma. I find it amazing that TMZ gets their news so fast. they must pay alot of people alot of money.

TMZ and Perez Hilton are "gossip" sites so they don't have the same proof standards as the news sites. Probably why they are reporting but the news is waiting for an "official" announcement/press release.

It is sad if he has died--he was a great talent despite everything else. I wonder who will get custody of the children?

Rather awful but I feel bad that that will upstage Farrah.

I thought it was funny too. Which is why I posted it. I just thought it on that my twitter is all a buzz with TMZ and CNN and E! and then Shaq chimes in saying "is it true about michael." Like Shaq has some secret info source. I mean maybe he does but yeah, I thought is was funny too.

Really sad. I hadn't heard much about him lately so I had no idea about his health or his comeback tour.

I loved the Thriller album and video too. Bad was the last album I bought of his. Dirty Diana, loved that song.

It's always hard when someone passes but he was still so young. And his kids.
