update from a college student

Hey everone, I have been REALLY distant from the boards untill yesterday, but now that I am on Winter Vacation I have alot of free time on my hands, so i will be around alot more.

For those of you that didn't know, my house burned down in the fires that went through San Diego. It hit us all really hard emotionaly and financialy, but everyone in my family was safe. We are living in a rental house in San Diego while our new house is being built. I just saw the lay outs for the new house today and BOY are they nice. The square footage of the house went from 4400 to 5000, and instead of it being a 5 bedroom/3 bath it is a 6 bedroom/4.5 bath. We have 7 people in our family, so the more space, the better. I am really excited for it to get done, but that won't happen for about a year to a year and 1/2.

My 18th birthday came and passed, and I got my belly button pierced about a week and a half ago. Already have 4 other barbells to change it with.

School is out, and I already miss my friends from my dorm. I like being back at home though, i missed the San Diego weather. Although on some days the ground is ashy and dirt gets everywhere.

Oh Maggie! I am so sorry. I didn't know about your house. Gosh, I could cry! I am so glad that you and your family are ok and weren't hurt.
It sounds like you're enjoying college. I'm happy for you. Have a good break and hang around with us when you can.

NIce to see you back, Maggie, and stopping by to say hello to your buddies here on the DIS. So very sorry to hear of the loss of your home in the fires, along with so many thousands of others. Really sad. But sure sounds like you are going to have a nice one when finished with the new one, you can loan it out to Sleepy Beauty if her Castle up north gets full.

Good sign you are missing your dorm buddies, sounds like you are having a good time there too. I have heard from the other two of the Rebel trio, always nice to see you guys popping around here. Maggie, so good to see you here again! I am so very sorry about your house But I am so very glad to hear that none of you were hurt at all. Sounds like you are having a good time at college!! I hope all is going well for you there and enjoy your break!
