UPDATE****Dream Job

Please pray for me.... I am pretty devistated.... I didn't get the job.... and there is just few and far between to apply for..... I am a single mom of three teen boys including a senior which is an expensive year.

Guess I will start cold calling the nursing homes and doctors offices.... ugh.. so scared right now....

Have been pretty proud that my savings account has lasted the three years since I got hurt and had to re-train. But is it drained......... sooooo scared.....

Are you the new grad nurse that was going for the nicu job? Well either way I am so sorry you didnt get your dream job! I am a new grad nurse, going through the same thing right now. Tough market out there! Just keep on keeping on and know that everything happens for a reason and you will find the place you are meant to be! That is what I keep telling myself! Hang in there!

Prayers that your real dream job is just around the corner. Please enjoy your child's senior year even though I know you are worried about all the financial issues. It is such a magical time and it goes so quickly.

How about a pediatician's office? They get babiees and it would be great experience to get a NICU job.


How about a pediatric floor nurse or well baby nursery position? Peds ICU? Those would all give you terrific experience too

There are a lot of early intervention programs in my state that hire RNs, you go to peoples homes and check the kids to make sure they are meeting hteir milestones etc. It pays a little less than hospital nursing, but you get to know they families & get to work with a team of speech pathologists, psychologists etc etc and it seems really rewarding to get to know the kids. I met with someone about it, but she said you have to be super comfortable with babies & toddlers, and I am not. Maybe you could see if your state offers something similar? Also look into Mollen Imunization clinics if you are just looking for temp work, you can do flu shots until December-ish.

Don't lose faith...my DH went through the exact same thing a few months ago..thought he found the most ideal and best job, didn't get, and a few weeks later got called for the job he's at right now...LOVES his place and found out he got a raise!

So do your part and keep praying, and we'll do our part and pray and be here for you as well!

OH I am so sorry. I remember reading how excited you were & sounded like you were a really good fit for the job. I agree w/the others, hopefully that means something even more perfect is waiting around that next corner for you.

Hang in there & you should definitely be extremely proud your savings has lasted so long, that's awesome in itself! And congrats to your DS, exciting year. DD will be a senior next year & it's already getting pricey.
