Update: Disney Dream Menus Added

What type of food options did they have for gluten free? I know WDW is great, but I've never done a cruise so I'm a little nervous. My friend is getting married on the Dream in Sept so I'm going & really hope Disney keeps it's good name:goodvibes

The Head Server will bring you the next night's menu as you finish dining and work with you to order your next day's meals (including breakfast and lunch) based on what is available. Almost everything can be adapted to an extent. Often my kids would notice things from several listings and mention it to the HS and it would be incorporated into their finished product (or two plates would be brought out). If the HS wasn't sure about the adaptability of an offering he would ask for a backup choice. BTW Zan is amazing at taking care of allergies!

We had incredible food and desserts -- the truth to the extent of what we had was the fact my kids gained weight. My girls have trouble keeping weight on due to their celiac disease and additional food allergies.

Thanks! That is really reassuring, although I'm hoping I won't gain weight  Sounds like a wonderful experience!

I wore a pedometer and only used stairs ... between using the stairs and 7,000 steps a day I was able to eat to my hearts content and have a couple (several) adult beverages a day and still lose weight on a 7 night cruise. Having celiac disease probably helped because it does limit the diet LOL

Does anyone have a copy of any kids' menus?? Are they standard at all the restaurants or does each have it's own? I'd be interested in seeing the "kids" options for the kids and my less adventurous other half :goodvibes

I would also like to know what's on the kids menu. Hoping that there will be some healthy choices as well as some kids go to items (i.e. pasta or chix nuggets) on them. We would prefer to have the kids eat healthier options but sometimes its just not an option and besides it is their vacation too.

Good news on the food from the Cruise Critic blog:

"The quality of cuisine has never been a Disney hallmark so it's with surprise that every meal I've had onboard so far has been superb, from a home-style buffet of roast beef and mashed potatoes to a rich-yet-light cheesy soufflé with rock shrimp appetizer. My traditional "eggs benedict" test this morning in the Royal Dining Room went off without a hitch: the eggs were just the right side of runny."

Add me to the list of those waiting for kids menu. Also, I would love to see desserts menu.

Frozone: Smoothies (at an additional charge).

Dang! I was worried about that when I first read about Flo's area. I was - perhaps naively - hoping that the smoothies were gratis, just served in small portions. Phooey. Part of the fun of the cruise is just walking up to the counter and ordering something fun, knowing it's all been paid for in advance. In all my cruises, I've never had to give my kids spending money for the ships.

sorry, just thinking out loud...moving on...

Menu from bar on pool deck:

Oh no! They have the same yummy Mango Margaritas at the resorts. I am in so much trouble :rotfl: They were so good but expensive. I haven't seen prices yet for them on the cruse but they were $10 at the pools at WDW

Sorry if I've missed this, but is it going to be possible to get "sit down" breakfasts on the Dream? The food critic review of eggs benedict made me think of it. I was under the impression that they'd only have buffets--I'd read that the Magic and Wonder have hours for "sit down" breakfasts at one of the restaurants, but for some reason I thought that wasn't the case for the Dream. Does anyone know? Thanks!

One of the navigators that I read had breakfast from 9:00-10:30 in the Enchanted Garden, 8:00-9:30 in the Royal Palace, and 7:30-10:45 in Cabanas. I would think either the Enchanted Garden and/or the Royal Palace would be sit down breakfasts.

But you're right, this is from DCL's website which talks about buffets:

Breakfast
A breakfast buffet is available at Enchanted Garden on select days of your cruise. Because operating hours do vary daily, check the Personal Navigator—the Disney Cruise Line daily newsletter detailing all there is to see and do—for specific time and dates while onboard.

Thanks for the link :thumbsup2

How did you find it? When I got there I don't even see the Dream listed on the left hand side.

Also interested in childrens menus as I have a DH that generally thinks that you cannot serve a steak ANYWHERE without french fries, even at Yachtsman! Also, is there any type of menu for Cabanas? This is our first time cruising so I'm a bit new at this!
