UPDATE - ALL restaurants from 2008 back on for the 2009 DDP!

What restaurant has y'all so upset?

Do you think maybe they are eliminating some of the places available due to the complaints from non-DDP users?
Wondering what some of your thoughts are....

The two I really want to try is Yak & yeti and Tutto Italia. I already have all my others set and am super excited about them. (example of some of the ones I am going to: Kona, CRT, Coral Reef, HDDR, Biergarten, Chef Mickeys) We are on the Deluxe so we are trying several. The only two I really wanted to try and get ADR for that I am still waiting for is the two I mentioned. If they do not end up being on the plan i kind of figure it is ok because there are SO many Disney owned restaurants that I want to try those select few won't matter much to us. This is our first time we are on a plan so we will see.

I think it just has to do with if the non-disney owned restaurants feel they can financially swing being on the DDP. I can personally see why they feel they couldn't, it is a good deal for the person using the DDP not so good for the restaurant. I think those that really like those restaurants will still go anyways. We will see. It will be interesting to see for sure!!

I am hoping for some major pixie dust. Goofy's Candy in DTD, the Pastry shop in France, Yak and Yeti, Earl's sandwhich (DTD) and some other's are not included. This is very upsetting!

We were amazed how much food was thrown away by folks on the plan last summer, it was shocking some litter bins were full of food containers with only a bite of food eaten from them. Honestly they could have fed a town on the amount of food thrown away each day. We realise in the heat not everyone feels like eating but it was still such a waste of food from our point of view. We were brought up not to waste food.

Does anyone know anything about Yak & Yeti? I'm supposed to eat there on 1/1/09 and if it's not on the DxDP I'll have to find something else. I don't know what yet, but I'll be really sad. I ate there in September and loved it, but this trip is already tight on budget that I can't afford to pay oop for it. We'll still be on the 2008 dining plan. So I don't know if that helps me in anyway. Thank you for your information

That link is from 2003. So it is a bit outdated.

I can only eat small meals. I don't mean to waste food, but Disney meals are large and I can't finish one. Normally when I go with BF we only do the DDP if we do it at all this year we're trying the DxDP. I know I won't finish a meal, but I'll get to try things I wouldn't normally. I'll get to try things I wouldn't normally get to order.

I got all my ADRs a couple months back for our trip in February. I have San Angel Inn reserved, but at the time they had not signed on yet for the dining plan. Does anyone know if they have officially signed on again this year? If so, I need to call and get that added to our DDP.

There are a couple of nights that I have three! I will of course cancel once I get an idea of what is happening and post what I have left here if anyone wants them.

I did the same. I booked ADR's at a couple of restaurants that haven't signed on yet and then booked backups in case they don't sign on. Once the final list is released, I'll cancel the ADR I don't need.

I am waiting on the two I want before I make ADR. I want to see what happens. I have all my other ADR made but just missing the two. I kind of figure if I do not get them I can always use the credit at the CS. (I have DxDDP)

Bistro de Paris has never been on the dining plan - so that one is probably not going to be on that list. All others have participated in the past.

I haven't been on the boards in a long time, but, I was just looking at the 2009 DDP restaurant choices and just floored and the cut in restaurants. Why do the DDP? We did the DDP the first time this past March and really ate alot more than we normally do, but, the choices seemed endless. Disney must have lost alot of money on the DDP. Too bad, was looking forward to trying some new places, now I have to reasess the budget.

Apparently this happens every year. The non-Disney owned restaurants have not finalized their contracts so they are not added to the first official list of participating restaurants.

It does happen every year. The list won't be finalized until the end of the month.

There is another thread that's kind of become an official watch thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2013010 that you may want to keep an eye on if you're waiting to see the additions.

don't reassess yet, as that list may not be final. Still waiting to see additions of the non-Disney-owned restaurants. Whatever the list is in January will most likely be final.

I called yesterday and talked to a CM about this because we have ADR's for Teppan Edo in January. She told me that they still were not confirmed on the DDP and to check again in another week. The final list should be coming out very soon. As a matter of fact, she did a lot of checking on as many non-Disney owned restarants as we could think of and quite a lot of them just were not added yet. I hope the final list comes out very soon.
