UPDATE - ALL restaurants from 2008 back on for the 2009 DDP!

It is interesting isn't it, who is last to jump on board. I have back of ADR's if it turns out that my DTD choices arent on. Member Services for DVC is usually good about factual stuff.....at least so far.

IIRC, the updated list last year came out on the DVC member site first, a day or two before the public list was updated. So good news from DVC MS is a little more likely to be good news rather than just rumor, I think.

I have a question about transition to the 2009 list. On Jan 1, 2009 I'll still be on the 2008 plan, does that mean I can stiill eat at Yak & Yeti on the plan, or will they just not take the plan as of 1/1/09.

thanks.

If you are still on the 2008 plan then it would be the same as 2008. No word on if Yak & Yeti has confirmed or not. Most people are saying it will most likely be the same so in that case either way they would be on it. Hope this helps and have a great trip!! :)

Okay, we're heading toward the middle of December and we still haven't been informed about the missing restaurants. Anyone else getting a little nervous about some of them? For us, it's the places in the World Showcase. I know the final decisions can run late in the year, but are they normally this late?

I remember Teppan Edo not being on the 2008 list until like Dec 30 i think.

We called yesterday and were assured that Les Chefs de France was on the list for 2009. We start our trip on January 1st, so we are very concerned about last minute additions.

Sorry if this has been clarified previously, but I am confused...

Is the first post what is updated when the restaurants are added to the plan? I am waiting on Tutto Italia.

I still like a lot of the restaurants that Disney offers, they have really good options I think! Most of our ADR are with Disney owned restaurants so it would not be worth it for us to cancel our dining plan because of those restaurants but I can see how people might not want to do it if those are the only reason they are doing it. They are some of the crowd favorites but the two most demanded restaurants I have heard of are CRT and Le Cellier which are Disney so I think it just varies family to family.

If a large percentage of the non-Disney owned restaurants opt not to accept the plan, I'll certainly mention that as the reason for not adding the plan to our May trip. We loved the deluxe plan, but it loses its appeal when many of our must-dos and must-trys are excluded.

But really, I don't think there is much Disney can/will do to change the participation rate. They aren't going to raise their reimbursement rate, because that'll cut into profits. They aren't going to force restaurants to participate, because that'll drive the non-Disney owned restaurants off Disney property. The plan is what it is, and if it changes I think the only option is to take it or leave it based on its current incarnation rather than to lament what it used to be or try to convince Disney to change it back. Many people will still enjoy the plan even if it is limited to restaurants Disney owns, and those of us who don't just won't purchase it.

I called last night and was told that the list would be updated on Dec. 22. I made a reservation for Les Chefs de France and plan to check back to be sure they are participating.

Exactly! Very well said! :)

Called last night and were told thatTeppan Edo, Marrakesh and Yak & Yeti are still not confirmed and they may not know until after christmas. DH said we'll call them Christmas day and expect a nice present- these 3 on the plan ( for our ADR).

We're waiting on two of those three as well, so here's hoping :) .

Based on the above link, Planet Hollywood is on the 2009 Dining Plan...however as with Wolfgang Puck Cafe, there is a surchange for some menu items.

I am not sure where that list came from but it appears to be a couple of years old. L'Originale Alfredo di Roma (now Tutto Italia) and Concourse Steakhouse which no longer exist are listed on there. There are several other old restaurants on there and new ones that aren't included.
