UPDATE 6/14 Our Amazing and Totally Yummy QSDP Quick Service Reviews May 12-19 PICS

Great reviews, thanks. Gives me lots of ideas for our trip in August.

Wow - just read through the whole of this review and I can conclude... that I want to eat it ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! :)

I literally just booked POFQ with QSDP yesterday evening. I've never experience the dining plan before so thought I should do some investigating (instead of studying of course!!!!). So I came to the DIS, entered 'QSDP' in the search box and this review was the first thing I stumbled across.

Thanks for all the amazing photos and reviews! It's so nice to see what you can actually get - I mean hey, I love burgers and fries, but all this other stuff looks amazing!!

And I  Columbia Harbour House too!! :)

Can I just ask if the turkey sandwich at Cosmic Rays is made to order, i.e can I have it without onion, or did you add that yourself at the fixings.

It did come with all the veggies on it (cucumbers, onions, tomato etc.) I bet you could ask for whatever you wanted on it. It wasn't like a packaged sandwich they appeared to make it fresh. Hope that helps~

OK now for some snack picks. We ate soooo much on the QSDP that we only ate snacks maybe two days. Needless to say we ended up taking quite a few "treats" home with us.

Main Street Candy Shop...

Mickey Cake Pops Seriously they were OK but not our favorite. We got chcolate, vanilla, and red velvet. They mark the tips of the ticks so you know what flavor you have. The ears were marshmallow which I LOVED:cloud9:!! But the cake pop itself was rather odd tasting. Almost like it was never baked???? I know that wasn't so. I just imagined the cake part would be like cake (light and fluffy). These were dense and I mean really dense and just peculiar tasting. I can'tr describe it actually. I am probably being no help but they almost tasted too sweet and fake like...Oh well they were adorable and we ate them just didn't "love" them.

Now these were YUMMY!!!! So fresh, chewy, and really done well. The mickey head marshmallow treats covered in Reese's Pieces and chcocolate with vanilla drizzle. These stayed fresh for days...I nibbled on them daily ;). Highly rate these as a perfect overall snack!!

:cool1: Thanks for the Quick Service reviews.

my wife and I will be visiting Disney World in September and you have given us several new places to try for our meals.

Really enjoyed your reviews! :thumbsup2 We've eaten in many of same places, but you've given me some ideas for new items to try. Thanks so much for sharing your family's experiences and your awesome pictures! :goodvibes

I loved reading your reviews!! We had QSDP the last time we went, and it was really great! We didn't mind not having TS meals b/c of the time. I, too, (like someone mentioned) was afraid that the food would be the same across the parks, but alas, it was wonderful. WPE was THE favorite throughout our group. We LOVED the meatloaf!! I noticed no one mentioned the pizza at WPE. It was amazing! Seriously, I went home and googled the recipe b/c we loved it so much. It's now a favorite in our family. Our kids had it on the kids' menu, and we *had* to taste it, lol. so yummy! it has a pesto sauce and different cheeses. SO good! Also, we did Beignets for breakfast at POFQ using our snack credits (that was when you got 2 per day). NOT anything like beignets from back home (we're from LA), but still very good! We didn't try the food there b/c we get real cajun food at home. I was kind of like you w/ the Italian...leery of trying the cajun food b/c it might not taste like home. ;)
Anyway, I really, really enjoyed your reviews! I'm so glad I read this. Everything I keep seeing has to do with DDP and TS meals. That's not helpful when you're on QSDP. It just makes me wish I could eat at all those places! LOL! I now will be adding 5 QSDP meals that I probably never would have added had it not been for your reviews! Those are:
*Kringla Bakeri og Cafe- Dh's family is Norwegian, so we always go to this "land", but never tried the food! This will be fun!
*Starring Rolls Cafe- we had planned to do this as a snack, BUT will now do it as a meal, knowing those yummy desserts are already included! bonus! save our snack credit for something else!
*Columbia Harbor House- I'm not a seafood fan (I know, odd being that's what LA is famous for, lol), but my dh and kids are. My kids even peel their own crawfish, lol. Anyway, this place didn't sound so tasty to me until I read your review. Yum! The hubs and kids are sure to enjoy the shrimp platters!
*Captain Cooks- Same reason as above. I keep picturing seafood. Everything you mentioned sounds yummy!
*Contemporary Cafe- everything sounds SO good!

Again, thank you!

Here's a few more places we enjoyed during our last visit
Pepper Market- Coronado Springs, this is table service, but is on the QSDP. YUMMY food!! probably 2nd best to WPE

Sunshine Season- Epcot in The Land. SO many choices! good food! good desserts!

La Cantina de San Angel- EP Mexico. we had loaded nachos w/ churros for dessert! yum!

Boulangerie Patisserie- EP France- yummy pastries! they have sandwiches, but never tried them. however, knowing that I might get to choose one as a dessert w/ a meal, might sway me to eat a meal there ;)

Fairfax Fare- HS very good brisket and BBQ!

Tortuga Tavern- MK (formerly El Pirata y el Perico)- yummy nachos! kids like nachos, lol

MM I love that new look of those cake pops! I looove the red velvet cake pop! I know you said you didn't care for them, but I love that dense not baked taste of the red velvet cake! FYI- I have had cake pops other places and that is how they all taste. I think because they coat them in the chocolate that it makes the cake very moist and dense.

Well I am very late joining in here but have just read your whole review and loved it :goodvibes

We've never had the QSDP but this review is seriously making me want to give it a go!

I am glad you mentioned the cake pops, because I had read a couple of positive reviews and wanted to try them. Now, not so much. I'd hoped they were just regular cake, but sounds like they are made like this:

"Cake pops are basically little smushed balls of cake and frosting (kind of like when you used to smash your birthday cake all in pieces, maybe with ice cream, and eat it as goop). You bake up a cake, let it cool, tear it into fine crumbs, stir in something to hold it all together, and roll it in balls. Easy!"

That's from a recipe I have. I was intrigued when these started getting popular on the internet, but after reading that description, I thought "yuck!"

More snacks...

This was an almond caramel chocolate candy. This was very very good. The only odd part about it was that the almonds seemed raw, like they weren't even toasted. When we bit it with the chcolate it was perfect but when you just got the almond part it was as if you were eating shelled nuts :confused3
When you bit the caramel, chcolate, and nuts it was divine!!

Again, thank you all for following along and keeping me company. I hope these reviews have helped and encouraged some of you to try this plan! :grouphug:

Here is a bunch of the snacks we took home. I will try and describe them starting from the cake pops and working clockwise...

Mickey pops (see above description), Caramel almond cluster (see above).

Mickey Sugar Cookie This was as yummy as it was adorable. The cookie was fresh and the icing had a pleasant light taste.

S'Mores Bar This was my favorite by far. It was a graham cracker with marshmallow and covered in milk chocolate. It tasted like the real thing... It was crispy and gooey all at the same time. Highly recommend!

Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Traditional but delicious! The marshmallows were fresh and the chocolate blended perfectly with them. I love that this is a food and a souvenir all in one. After you eat the yummy chocolate marshmallows you get a great Mickey straw to enjoy!!

Almond Toffee Bar OK Maybe I have two favorites come to think of it...this candy ROCKED! It was the best toffee I have had in a while. The bars were huge (we got two) and we split them for days. A little bit goes a long way with these babies. The almonds were fresh and the toffee part was crisp and flavorful! Another good one!

** Coming up my wrap up of the report and my personal opinions of the QSDP!!

Thanks for the great reviews! We are doing the regular DP for the first time in Sept, so we are scoping out QS options!

Thanks! I need to re-read this again with my friend to pick places for our next trip. Great review! It will be very helpful for us. I toy between trying new places and sticking with the regular ones.... I think I might need to try a few new ones after reading this (although we're for sure going to do WPE again!).

Thank you for sharing these reviews! We are going in October and have free dining (regular DDP) but so many reviews are only for the fancypants restaurants, and we just aren't fancypants people! We look forward to our TS meals and have had our ADRs settled for months, but I'm really looking forward to our CS meals, too! I loved seeing these non-fancypants dining reviews--they made my stomach growl!
