Update 05/05 - Can We Survive Eating Only at Food & Wine? A F&W and MNSSHP PTR

I love this newest guide you've created for yourself! I may have to steal this idea for F&W! :surfweb:

Steal away! I will have to make a whole new one for F&W myself now! But I love making lists! It is a sickness! :lmao:

It's been since March 31st that there's been an update.......Totally unacceptable Miss Erin!! I'm gonna have to ask True or Coy to continue writing this!!! :stir:

I am a bad DIS-er! I know! Now that I'm not all depressed about my knee, I should be posting here and on my TR more regularly :thumbsup2

You have to take care of yourself first!!! You really don't want to be all limpy in Disney --- that just wouldn't be fun at all!! It's only been 5 weeks and you are still healing!! You don't want to take Edgar with you, now do you?? Speaking of Edgar, he and his sister Eunice are now housemates again. Peter had surgery for Stiff Big Toe (Hallux Rigidus) on Tuesday. Once he told me he was having surgery I made sure to tell him to have it WAY BEFORE our next trip!! I will not be going to Disney again with Edgar. So, he'll be home at least 3 weeks for recovery. Ugh!

Of course you are not cancelling!!! Just postponing --- that is soooo much better! The middle of October is absolutely fine to go as you will still get to see the Halloween decorations. In my opinion it would be just as easy to arrive in Orlando and just go directly to POR. I would hate to change hotels ---- I like being settled! I think Halloween Horror Nights would be a blast, but I can understand True's concerns. She's still young, yet.

So does this mean you will be posting more regularly for real?? I miss hearing about your plans and the trip!!!:fish:

I hope you feel better soon, another trip is in the works so that's a positive! I know postponing is hard but it's for the best.

I'm sorry you have to postpone, but it sounds like it will work better! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Halloween at WDW!!

I renamed the PTR since we are going in October now: Can We Survive Eating Only at Food & Wine? A F&W and MNSSHP PTR

That title might be a little misleading because we will definitely eat outside of EPCOT, but I do want to make sure that the kids and I have every opportunity to try everything we want at F&W! When we went to F&W last year, we had a good sampling of what they had to offer at the booths, but the kids and I didn’t get to try everything we wanted. We were usually too full from other meals that we were eating at the parks! So I have scheduled our days so that we can go to EPCOT quite a few times to try everything we would like at F&W! These are the ADRs I made:

10/17: ‘Ohana for breakfast

10/18: no ADRs – all F&W at EPCOT (maybe a pastry from France for breakfast!)

10/19: Sci-Fi for early lunch; 50’s Prime Time for dinner

10/20: Tusker House for breakfast

10/21: Universal Orlando

10/22: Universal Orlando

10/23: Universal Orlando

10/24: Crystal Palace for breakfast (before park opening!!!)

10/25: Be Our Guest for early lunch (but I am hoping BOG will keep breakfast around!)

10/26: Chef Mickey’s for breakfast

10/27: Cinderella’s Royal Table for breakfast

With the exception of our first Hollywood Studios day, I made all breakfast ADRs. Well, BOG might be breakfast – because it is at 10:30am – but it will probably just be an early lunch, which is still good! So my plan is to go to different parks during the day, and in the late afternoon or early evening, we will go to EPCOT for F&W! This isn’t set in stone, though! There is bound to be more hopping from park to park so that we can get in as many rides as we can, as well!

Then I shared these plans with the kids… You can guess what happened next! They wanted to make changes! :rotfl: Well, not a major change. They weren’t happy that we weren’t going to Garden Grill. True said it was a tradition, so we HAD to go there! The kids and I love that place! So I added a dinner at Garden Grill on Saturday, Oct. 24. I mean, really, who can resist this?:

I made a new spreadsheet for all of our meals (I love spreadsheets!!!) and followed the same formula from before. If the meal wasn’t a fixed price, I chose the most expensive appetizer, the most expensive entrée, the most expensive dessert, and the most expensive drink (or souvenir cup drink) and multiplied that by three. Then I added 20% for a tip for each meal:

I prefer to over-budget than to under-budget, so I feel comfortable setting aside that much cash for our table service meals. As I said before, I know we won’t all eat an appetizer or dessert, and I know we won’t all pick the most expensive things on the menu each time we eat, so we’ll end up with a nice little buffer! Any extra money can be spent on souvenirs or the booths at F&W! Oh, trust me, I was so tempted to jump the gun and make a spreadsheet for F&W using last year’s information! :lmao: I’ll just have to wait until the menus are announced before I can start planning what we want to try at F&W. Oh, who am I kidding? We want to try EVERYTHING!!!

I am definitely going to post much more! I miss being on the boards and seeing what you guys have planned or have done! I don't get to go on the boards much right now because of my commute. Since my knee is still healing, I don't feel comfortable taking the Metro to work, so I have to drive every day! So that means no reading on my commute! :( But it is only temporary and I am healing!

I'm sorry that Peter had to have surgery, but I certainly do not blame you for wanting him to get it out of the way! Edgar and his sister do not need a trip to Disney!

I hope you feel better soon, another trip is in the works so that's a positive! I know postponing is hard but it's for the best.

Thanks! It is tough to postpone, but at least I have something to look forward to now! :goodvibes

I'm sorry you have to postpone, but it sounds like it will work better! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Halloween at WDW!!

I love Halloween there, too! I just have to make sure we actually do Halloween stuff at MNSSHP and not just ride the rides!

You are just so darned cute with your spreadsheet!!! Mine isn't nearly half as detailed, but it gets the job done!!!!

I'm so far behind on my DISing! I'm sorry you had to postpone but your new plans look GREAT! We had to postpone as well (details about that to come in my slightly abandoned PTR) so we are missing F&W. You'll have to post tons of pictures so I can live vicariously through you! :drinking1popcorn::
