Upcharge Express Transportation

You mean like wheelchairs that are rented at the front of the parks? My guess would be no because there is no space for that at these stops.

According to posts in the Theme Park forum, yes, you can pick up and drop off wheel chairs and strollers rented at Disney. They have created space, apparently, at the stops.

From the thread in the Theme Park forum, it appears they do have a cap but it is pretty high.

I gotta give Disney a lot of credit on this one. It seems like a service that a lot of people will want, is probably extremely profitable. Think about even at $24 over 7 days, how many times will the average person use it, perhaps once a day? That's $3.50 per bus ride. It's a good deal for the customer, but also a good deal for Disney. (And yes, I'm sure several of you will chime in and say "I hope 3 times a day every day!", but I'm talking about the AVERAGE person that hops. On the rare occasions we buy hoppers, we hop park to park maybe 2 or 3 times a trip...but there will still be people that will pay that for the 2 or 3 times.)

We did this on our short 4-day trip this past week and loved it. Only thing I wish they had was a printed or digital schedule for each park in case we forgot to ask guest services about time or changed mind on what park we were hopping to. I'd also pay more if it included express trip back to hotel at closing.

I've heard that the specific times are still being adjusted (ex, :10 and :40), but that the 30 minute gap between buses is consistent.

How long is the "test run" supposed to last? Will it still be available during Marathon Weekend, 1/4-1/8? We are going 1/6-1/15 and just doing parks 7 days in the middle of that time. I would definitely buy this for my DD and I as we park hop daily, sometimes to 3-4 parks in one day.

Until January 7th. It could be extended though as well.

Just in from The Dis:
On 12/30 and 12/31, Express Transportation will only be available from 10:00am-8:00pm

Ya know, what you said here got me thinking about a few things along with the live review that's occurring now over at the theme park tips and strategies board. In addition to saying you no longer hop, or hop less frequently, I recall in an article I had read a few weeks ago, there was a recommendation that people NOT buy park hoppers and I wonder if the draw here is to get people to purchase park hoppers if they had an easier way to get to the park. Perhaps security has stopped people from park hopping. I know I'm not one of those people, but I can't speak for everyone. Another thing that piqued my curiosity however, is if that were true, then why wouldn't Disney have tested this in a "free" state. Perhaps that's also part of the test - to see if people would pay for something like this.

I only hop when it is just my teenagers and I. With the full entourage, AK and DHS are half days and then it is resort time.

I can see this as Disney looking at once AK and DHS are full day parks what can they offer to keep the Park Hopper money flowing.

It's still on the Disney website although the test period supposedly ended yesterday.

Anyone know if this will be extended?

Someone on the TPAS thread reported they were able to buy a 7-day pass yesterday(?) and someone else has reported they are extending through end of month. I highly recommend reading/following that thread as it is the most active.

Haven't heard anything more about this; is it still in affect. We arrive Jan 31 and want to use it if it is still available.
