Up, down and all around...a trip we will NEVER forget - COMPLETE 1/19

An update!!! And a really great one! :cool1:

The Baby Care Center sounds like a really good place to gain new energy. TT is really a great ride, isn't it. The first I was on it, I absolutely did not understand the hype, but it has now become one of my real favourites. :goodvibes Was the single riders line longer than the fast pass line? I have been on the single rider line there often and always seemed to bypass nearly everyone else!

I can't believe it's almost time for you to visit again! At least we'll get to keep enjoying Disney through your eyes!

I've only had the old schoolbread, so of course, it will be necessary for me to try the new version!

It was very nice of you to share the magic with others. It is fun to be a part of that!

Your picture of the monorail is amazing. I don't think I have seen one from that vantage point before. :thumbsup2

I dream about school bread. Seriously. I actually just revealed a picture of the school bread on my countdown calendar and I look at it multiple times a night. *Drool* :rotfl:

Loved the latest udpate!!:lovestruc Schoolbread....yum!!!!! Never heard about about that before...need to track that down on my next trip, whenever that may be. :) Great pic of the monorail!!

I didn't even think about the single riders line...that is a great idea, I'm storing this tip away in my brain for our next ride on TT!

I don't recall being all that impressed with TT, but the more I read about it here on the DIS, the more excited I was about riding it. I am not really into cars, but the whole concept of it, and all the details are just so neat.

I can't believe it's almost time for you to visit again! At least we'll get to keep enjoying Disney through your eyes!

I know it! I can't believe it either! :woohoo:

Oh yes MeMom, it's a "must do"! :goodvibes I think I'm going to try that pretzel this coming trip...

I love sharing the magic, it's always a highlight of the day for DH and I.

Thanks! I love how the monorail looks going through Epcot. I want to purposely ride it through Epcot sometime, which I haven't done yet!

:rotfl2: I TOTALLY understand why you dream of school bread! It's sooooo very yummy.

Loved the latest udpate!!:lovestruc Schoolbread....yum!!!!! Never heard about about that before...need to track that down on my next trip, whenever that may be. :) Great pic of the monorail!!

Schoolbread is EXCELLENT. It has the yellow cream inside as well, it's not bavarian, it's a very light cream. So, so tasty! You gotta try it!

I loved all of the updates (I missed a few due to being out of town). What a great shot of your Spaceship Earth screen. I love that it captured you and Henry! A mom and her son can never have too many pictures together! ;)

I am looking forward to seeing the pictures of Henry!

I totally agree with the previous poster that your picture of the monorail was fantastic. :goodvibes And riding the monorail to Epcot was one of the reasons why we decided to stay at the Poly. I did this in 2004 and always wanted to do it again, but never got round to it. So this time, this will be our normal way to get to Epcot! :cool1:

How sweet of you to share your Fast Passes!

That school bread looks amazing! One of these days I will try it -- there are just so many yummy things in World Showcase!

Did your ticker change? Do you still have your January trip planned? I am loving your TR...can't wait for the next one.

The almond covered one? It's so good, too!

Did you see what I really dreamed (over on the TR) after taking pain meds yesterday?
Yep, I dreamed Disney.
Crazy Disney, but still Disney!

The most perfect way to ride the monorail through EPCOT is to do it up front with the driver. We did that last year and you get an amazing view as you go round. :thumbsup2

That was really so nice of you guys to share the magic with the other family by giving them your instant fast passes. It feels good to give something like that and brighten up someone's day! :flower3:
I don't know if I have said this before but I've been enjoying your TR from a young mom's point of view with a little one. You are so sweet in your descriptions of Henry and talking about all of the things you and your DH do with him. :goodvibes

Have you seen the two guys (brothers, I think) that did that in their backyard? It's on youtube. They used a glider/swing, had a son do the pilot introduction thing, moved the swing as the movie played, had fans blowing, etc. Try to find it on youtube. It's pretty cool to see how far they went. They had a whole long hallway with lights down the side as the entrance and everything!

No way!! I must find it! :surfweb:

THAT'S SO COOL!

Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTzMQAVWxpI

If you are uber nerdy like Joe and I - here is the behind the scenes on how they did Soarin' AND Illuminations in their backyard. Really cool stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3At6o90KOI

Thanks for the link - that is very cool!

Your last day...already? :confused3 Why does time go by triple-fast at WDW? :sad1: That schoolbread looks delish - must put it on my list for next time. It does seem like TT has a longer FP line than other rides. My older DS noticed it last year (and complained about it of course!). The picture from Spaceship Earth is so cute!

Your next trip is right around the corner...

Another great update with a cute picture from Spaceship Earth. I love the story behind your DH trying Beverly...when I had DH try that on our Disneymoon I didn't have to camera ready for his reaction but wish I did!!!!

I agree with previous posters that the picture you took of the monorail is beautiful! Looking forward to seeing what the rest of the day was like. I can't believe that you have less than 2 weeks before you go back again! I am so jealous.

I agree - there never is enough pictures with Mommy it seems. :goodvibes And welcome back! I hope your time in IL and WI was fun (and not too cold!)

Thanks! I can see the definite advantage of the monorail from the Poly. You'll get lots of trips to make up for the ones you missed from 2004. :thumbsup2

How sweet of you to share your Fast Passes!

That school bread looks amazing! One of these days I will try it -- there are just so many yummy things in World Showcase!

Oh I know it. The World Showcase is so dangerous, and so, so good! I think it will be a while before I go back to schoolbread just because of all the options available.

Did your ticker change? Do you still have your January trip planned? I am loving your TR...can't wait for the next one.

It should be rotating between the January trip (11 days!) and the December trip. It sometimes gets "stuck", so that might be what happened. Glad to hear you are enjoying this one - there will be another really soon!! :yay: (Hopefully I can wrap this one up in 11 days...)

The almond covered one? It's so good, too!

Did you see what I really dreamed (over on the TR) after taking pain meds yesterday?
Yep, I dreamed Disney.
Crazy Disney, but still Disney!

Ya, the almond covered one! It looks SO good. I think I recall you mentioning how tasty it is on a TR and that clinched me "needing" one. :goodvibes

I did read your CRAZY Disney dream! I laughed out loud about the part with dancin' princess in it. I love how you dreamed Disney AND DISboards all in one. I didn't have a chance to reply to it all though because I realized I was then running late for work! :headache: I am going to try to get back over there tonight to post. I hope you are feeling all better by now!

The most perfect way to ride the monorail through EPCOT is to do it up front with the driver. We did that last year and you get an amazing view as you go round. :thumbsup2

Ooooh wow, that would be SO neat. Up front with the driver, and at night!

That was really so nice of you guys to share the magic with the other family by giving them your instant fast passes. It feels good to give something like that and brighten up someone's day! :flower3:

Oh thank you! I cannot recall who has said what, so if you said it before, I don't fully remember... ...so... :goodvibes

It really was fun to watch things through Henry's eyes and see his eyes light up, and when we got the Disney Face, clapping hands, huge grins, excited shrieks...:cloud9: He won't ever remember this trip, but I will never forget it!

No way!! I must find it! :surfweb:

Your welcome! I thought it was really cool too! So creative.

Time DOES go by triple-fast at WDW. I swear it!

It would have been fun to see DH and I on our Disneymoon when we were both clueless - I bet someone got a good laugh from that! :rotfl:

I can't believe we are going back so soon either, it's a total dream come true!

We left off eating yumm-o schoolbread in the Baby Care Center, relaxing and our whole family enjoying the restful moment.

I have to warn you, this afternoon didn't have any "events" that stood out. No crazy bathroom breaks, no baby vomit, no thrill rides, no meals, no magic sharing, no wackiness. Just a simple afternoon in the World Showcase, so it seems kinda...well...boring...BUT, it's still Disney World, so it ain't THAT boring! ;) (and it means few words, lots of pictures!)

Eventually we made our way back out to the World Showcase, Mexico was up first.

IMG_4084Small.jpg

As we walked past the large pavilion I saw dozens and dozens of strollers parked outside and no way to get inside except via the steps. At that moment I wasn't too keen on taking Henry out of the stroller and walking around with him on my hip, so we kept on going past Mexico.

(With that said, Mexico is on DH's "must do" list this coming trip!)

We continued on...

IMG_4087Small.jpg

and within minutes we found ourselves on another continent in Norway!

We explored a bit, visited the shops and opted not to ride Maelstrom...we are "saving" it for another trip. ;) ......Okay, I'll be honest. I've heard not so great reviews of it, so I'm not too anxious to ride it. BUT, I do want to ride it just to find out what is so "eh" and I'm very curious to know why Disney thought it deserved a FastPass....

IMG_4089Small.jpg

The grass roof is really fun

IMG_4092Small.jpg

I'm bummed this ship is now gone, I thought it was really cool!

IMG_4093Small.jpg

Rowr! Look how strong I am!

IMG_4094Small.jpg

IMG_4096Small.jpg

A bit of heaven on earth

IMG_4097Small.jpg

IMG_4100Small.jpg

ANOTHER waterfall picture....we have to learn other settings on our camera. We REALLY do...

IMG_4101Small.jpg

I thought the little wood stove thingy was a neat detail

After Norway we ventured into China

IMG_4104Small.jpg

IMG_4106Small.jpg

IMG_4108Small.jpg

IMG_4111Small.jpg

And into the shops...

IMG_4113Small.jpg

IMG_4114Small.jpg

Being a bit silly and dorky...

IMG_4121Small.jpg

We were VERY tempted to buy one of these for Henry and one for our new little niece. But at $35 a pop, they stayed on the rack.

As we started to exit China I spotted a PhotoPass Photographer taking pictures right there in China! I had never seen one here before, so we stopped for more pictures. Henry had fallen back asleep again while back, so it was just going to be Joe and I in the pictures...but then the PhotoPass Photographer noticed this:

image172Small.jpg

My little guy was awake again! And look at those ROSY cheeks!

So, we pulled Henry out and the PhotoPass Photographer went to TOWN. I really had no clue he took so many pictures until we got the CD. Here is a sampling...

image201Small.jpg

And then he asked if we wanted some of just Henry! I was pretty dumbfounded, I know some of the PhotoPass Photographers do get into their job, but this was really awesome, I could tell this CM loved his job and loved making people happy. He certainly made this Momma happy! My little guy got his own personal photo shoot! Here is my shining star...:goodvibes

We thanked the CM numerous times over for the special moment, I couldn't wait to see these on the CD and I just love how they turned out!

those pics of henry are awesome!!! they were worth the price of the CD all by them selves:cloud9:

Continued from previous post

After our photo shoot in China we moved onto Germany in just minutes...don't you just love how quickly you can travel the globe at Epcot? ;)

IMG_4132Small.jpg

IMG_4135Small.jpg

When my parents were early in their marriage they lived in Germany (my Dad was stationed there during Vietnam), and I am over 50% German, so I've always had a bit of a dream of visiting there. This is as close as I've gotten so far! :goodvibes

IMG_4137Small.jpg

I like the pickle tree! We have a pickle ornament (not from WDW), but I didn't know about the story behind the pickle ornament until I read it here. I think I'll be doing something similar when Henry gets old enough to understand.

IMG_4138Small.jpg

IMG_4139Small.jpg

IMG_4140Small.jpg

I have a feeling this will be a "must do" for a certain little boy in the near future...;)

My Mom has a German Cuckoo Clock, her most prized possession. They really are amazing pieces of work....with equally amazing price tags. :scared1:

IMG_4142Small.jpg

And up in the nursery an absurd little bird it popping out to say coo-coo (Coo-Coo!)

Henry LOVED the train - he kept pointing and making his little motor sounds...

IMG_4146Small.jpg

Joe loved it too!

We kept venturing, right into Italy...

IMG_4156Small.jpg

IMG_4157Small.jpg

IMG_4159Small.jpg

I REALLY want to know where these stairs go and why they are roped off!

IMG_4160Small.jpg

I thought this pillar was a clever detail

IMG_4162Small.jpg

IMG_4163Small.jpg

And this concluded our World Showcase adventures. We had explored every country during our two visits!

Okay, okay...not really.

No Mexico and we sorta breezed over America. But we came close!
