Unusually Hot Weather

I merged together the 2 hot weather threads.

And, yes, it is miserable! It was pleasant for about one day (October 4th), and now it's back to this sauna nonsense again.

Oh please, let the weather realize it's FALL and chill out a bit! Praying to the goddess for 70-80 degree temps when we visit in early November. We last went in September and melted and despite having access to the GCH pools, I don't want a repeat experience!

80 degrees is even way too hot for what fall should be. It's 80-something today, and it's too hot. Disneyland always feels warmer anyway. If it were 67 or 70 degrees, it would still feel warmer -- but comfortable for everyone!

It does feel warmer, doesn't it? We are going for MHP on Friday, and it's supposed to be a little bit cooler by then...but not much. We also won't be arriving until around 3:00, so we'll only have a few hours of heat before the sun goes down.

The icky thing is that it hasn't even been cooling down much at night, unless it's like quite late at night (at least it's been that way in my area). It's been muggy. Stupid humidity!

I know. :) Historical weather data says early Nov should be in the upper 70's. I'd love ANYthing in the 70's but I don't want to push it. It's been hot up here (we are in wine county, northern CA) and I can't imagine doing DLR in this heat.

Ugh, the weather sites show temps going up - every time I check it gets worse. We will be there next week and now it will be in the 90's on 3 or our 6 days.

We'll be there next week too......hoping something blows in to cool things down.
Coming from AZ, so used to heat......but dry heat and not out walking around in it all day.

Things were looking reasonable for my trip next week, but everything has been revised and the highs appear to be back in the mid 90's again. That's hotter than my July trip!

It's chilly!!!!!! It's gray and gloomy! The air is damp! It's not a bubbling cauldron of death tonight!!! I almost just ran to the closet to get a light sweater (and then changed my mind)!!!!! :faint: There is a breeze!!!!! It won't last beyond today, most likely, but enjoy the cool air tonight if you happen to be heading to MHP!

We are here. It's been hot, but is cooling off now. Yippee!

'll the weather sites have temp significantly lower than what they were showing just a couple of days ago. Instead of 90's 3 days next week and high 80's the rest of the days, it is now low-mid 80's and a couple of days in the 70's! I really hope it stays that way - or goes even lower. We are so used to cool weather up where we live (even in Summer) that anything over 84 is sweltering hot.

The interesting thing is how the weather feels as opposed to what the numbers are, and as opposed to what the weather sites tell us it is supposed to "feel like." For example, right now one weather site I looked at said it is 73 degrees in my area (L.A.), and that it feels like 73. However, I am never even considering running to grab a sweater or close a window when it is 73 degrees. It definitely felt chillier than 73 degrees, although, oddly, it feels less chilly now than it did 2 hours ago. Other times the weather sites will say it is 83 degrees and feels like 86, when it actually feels hotter than 86.

Woo hoo! The heat wave has been canceled faster than Light Magic! I hope this forecast sticks. It looks so much more pleasant for the week and Monday's party will be incredible with a high of 76!

Do the forecasts usually fluctuate this dramatically in SoCal? Are we out of the woods or could the heatwave return?

I'm so glad that it's cooling down for you guys! The heat and humidity together just make it so miserable!

May fall weather commence!!!

The forecasts and weather don't normally fluctuate quite so dramatically. Usually, the cool down is very slow and gradual... from 100s down to the 90s... from the 90s down to the 80s and so on, and it takes a while to get to a comfortable place. But we also don't normally have this crazy humidity that we have been 'blessed' with this year.

There are, on rare occasions, some extreme fluctuations within a short span of time. I remember posting about it on Facebook a few years ago -- one week was 100 something degrees. Exactly one week later it was 64 degrees, or something around there (63 or 65). It was bizarre that there was such a drastic drop in the course of a week. That's the kind of weather shift I like to see -- a massive drop in temperature -- but, with my luck, the next shift will be a massive spike in the temperature!!
