I have an unusual question regarding the lighting at Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel.

My Mom and I am looking for a special restaurant to say "thank you" to a very special friend but I need to know what the lighting is like at the resturant. Last year we dined at Blue Bayou and while we enjoyed the food, the lighting was so dark that my Mom was unable to see our tablemates or the food at the table due to suffering from macular degeneration so it was a less than enjoyable meal...I am trying to not repeat this experience for her.

I have looked online and the pictures of the resturant appear to be bright (like a normal restaurant) but I am looking for someone who may have dined there recently to advise whether Steakhouse 55 is a "dark" style resturant like Blue Bayou or if it has normal lighting.

Thanks in advance

My family have eaten there a number of times and the lighting is just right, in the day you can easily see your food and the night times is turned down just a little. I am just like you mom and I like to see what I am eating and who is at my table.:thumbsup2

Thank you so much for responding....I saw some pictures online of the food and my mouth was watering so I was keeping my fingers crossed that someone would advise the lighting will be okay for my Mom....

I haved dined at both recently and the lighting is significantly brighter at Steakhouse 55 than at Blue Bayou. Enjoy!

Thanks FourM's....now to wait until my 60 day window opens to make my reservation.

Should you ever wish to go to the BB again, sit close to the doors. It's much brighter there.

My dark-vision was damaged when I had Lasik done, and I was nearly blind first time we went to BB and I followed the suggestions to try for a waterside table. So i can really empathize with your mom.
