Hello,

We are taking our first trip to Disneyland next month! If my family of four goes into Disneyland, can I then leave Disneyland, go over to California adventure, and get fastpasses for RSR? I wasn't sure if the park passes had to be activated at the California adventure entrance to be activated to get a fastpass in that park.

Also, I am assuming the fastpass machines between the two parks are not tied into each other.

Thanks for your help!

You have to have entered one of the parks, then you can collect FPs at either park.

Thank you very much for your quick response. That is what I needed to know.

A friend just tried to do this a fortnight ago and was only able to pull FP's on his ticket (the other tickets had entered DL but not across to DCA). He asked a CM and was told they will only work after entering the relevant park.

ALL Tickets must be used at a park that day. Then any FP machine can be used at any park.

That's the first time I've ever heard that (and we cover this question a lot here) and that has not been my experience in the past. Hmmm...

(this was supposed to have the quote about the friend who.could only get one FP. Sorry!

I'll quote it for you!! If this is indeed true, then this was a glitch or they changed the policy. You always needed to scan each ticket at ONE of the parks, and then could get a FP for each ticket at both parks.

Are there any other reports out there of this happening?

In 2 years, I have never had this issue, and I have done this numerous times a visit.

As far as CMs, they frequently give incorrect information.

Unless the cm said that this was a new policy, he just didn't know.

Had the tickets been used to get FPs at DL that day? I've ha experiences where my admission was messed up and for me into the park, but then wouldn't get FPs. The solution was to get a "FP ticket" from city hall or into leave and re enter or enter the other park. If someone had taken my admission to get FPs at the other park on one of those days it wouldn't have worked because it hadn't gotten totally read at the first park.

Yes I was very embarrassed when he told me that it didn't work as I was the one who told him it would....I'm not sure exactly what the CM said but they gave him a guest recovery pass that they could all use for it....
