unused ticket question

we have a childs unused ticket from a previous package, never activated. that child is now an adult according to Disney. can the unused childs ticket be used towards his next ticket as an adult? can that unused childs ticket be used toward any adults ticket now?

We exchanged our older unused child ticket for an adult one and they just made us pay the difference. It was better than buying a whole new ticket. We even had an old E ticket and got like .50 for it lol! Honestly I don't remember how much but it was peanuts.

We always do ours at the MK entrance on the right. (We have traded up tickets etc too)

I've exchanged a childs ticket for an adult ticket. The childs ticket was bought in error for a kid that was already a WDW adult. Guest services tried to charge me the difference between an adult and child ticket PLUS the price increases that had taken place from the original time of purchase. Which because it was a non expire ticket was over $200. This was a few years back when they had made some major changes to the non expire structure. Anyway, I think when he saw the horror on my face he went and spoke to a manager and they bridged the ticket so that I only paid the $20ish difference.

Did you trade in the ticket for the same person and they were no longer a child or did you trade it in towards another adult?

In the case of a never-used ticket , it does not matter for whom or by whom the old ticket was purchased.

Officially, they should charge you the difference between what was paid for the ticket originally (they have a list and
can tell from the numbers on the ticket) and what a new adult ticket is on the date that you do the trade-in.
